So Sketchy's Farewell

I'm sad to announce, Ally, at So Sketchy,
has decided to discontinue the site.
As a final farewell,
she asked all of the So Sketchy Sistas to participate.
Here's all the information concerning the contest & prizes.
For my card,
I used some old K&Co Christmas dies I found,
a Bazzill border, sprinkled with Flower Soft
& embossed Bazzill.
It's hard to see,
but the red cardstock is embossed too.
I hope you'll visit the site
& see all the other creations
& participate in the final contest.
Good luck to Ally in her future endeavors.
I also have some Christmas projects
posted at Scrapscene today.
I didn't plan it,
but 2 of these projects were made
using The Cutting Cafe templates.
So many cute cutting templates.
That's all for now.
I'm hoping to be back
with more projects,
but I've been baking & baking!!
So, we'll see.
Happy Monday everyone!!

So Sketchy sponsored by *Ormolu"

My term with So Sketchy has already ended,
but I hope you will visit So Sketchy
& see all the new wonderful designers.
In the meantime,
I'm so excited to show you a couple of cards.
So Sketchy was sponsored by a wonderful etsy *ORMULO*
You have got to check out the awesome stuff in her store.
The pictures don't do her work justice.
Her items have a nice glossy finish
& the colors & graphics are FABULOUS!!
So, here are 2 cards I made,
using 3 of the tags I was sent.
The first uses a rectangle tag & a circle tag.

This 2nd card uses a circle tag.
Sorry for these bad pictures,
but her stuff truly is gorgeous!!

Once again,
I managed to make both these cards
using nothing but scraps from my box:)
I also ordered me a Maya Road warehouse box
& was excited to get NO duplicates of what I already had.
But,
I haven't scrapped all week.
Instead, I've been exercising, reading, watching movies,
playing Wii (I have to beat my bro in bowling:)
& doing puzzles.
I am teaching a card class tonight,
but otherwise,
just hanging with the family.
Hope you're all having a wonderful day!!

So Sketchy final card for June

Here's my final card in June for So Sketchy.
I finally used my new Hello Kitty cartridge
I got, as a surprise, for Mother's Day.
Lots of cute cuts on this cartridge
that can be used for any occassion.
Not just girly stuff.
Using some more scraps from my box too.

I did get my Card Creations 7
magazine in the mail yesterday.

I have 2 cards in this issue
& it's packed full of great cards
by some really talented artists.
Not sure when it hits the mag racks,
but be on the look-out for it.
Yesterday I had some major scrappy time.
I was thrilled to get 3 layouts completed
and even more thrilled that I actually like them.
I've been doing cards so much
that I've lost my touch w/my layouts.
I'm hoping to get them posted before the weekend.
Hope you have wonderfully "cool" day!

So Sketchy card #3

TGIF to all those that work!!
Since I'm a SAHM,
plus school is out for summer,
everyday is Friday to me
& I absolutely LOVE that:)
It's time again for another
So Sketchy sketch & card.
I must admit
whenever I come across a sketch
that "stumps" me,
I'm more apt to just skip it over
& do something else.
This sketch was one of those for me.
It was a stumper for sure,
but since I'm on the design team,
I really had no choice
& I loved that I was challenged
& it got me out of my comfort zone.
So here's my card,
using Studio Calico papers,
a Sassafras flower, Maya Road journaling sheer
& some good ole' American Crafts thickers.

So do you have any plans for this weekend?
William is at bike challenge #2 for this year.
I think they're somewhere abouts Baton Rouge?
So it's me & the girlies until mid-Saturday
& then we're off to Tokyo Japan.............
restaurant that is:)
To celebrate my mom's birthday.
Sunday we're also going to see "Imagine That."
I think this summer will be another movie summer.
Hope you have a good one!!

So Sketchy Card #2

It's already time for my 2nd So Sketchy card.
I really loved Allison's sketches this month
& this one was no exception.
Be sure to visit the So Sketchy site for the sketch.
I embossed the base
& cut the stars using my Cricut,
then did some hand-stitching.
I also used stamps for all the sentiments
& loved how "independence" stamped so easily,
even though I had to curve it.

Girls were up at 6:30 this morning*sigh*
So, daddy is making some breakfast
I'm gonna exercise
& then we'll go swimming.
I think I'll need a nap today:)

I can't believe it's already June!!
I'm already getting into
a comfortable summer routine,
& that started with sleeping in past 6:00 AM!!
This card kicks off my June cards for So Sketchy.
Using some Cosmo Cricket papers
& Making Memories alphabet stickers.
Perfect card to get me in the summer mood.

& check it out.
There are prizes to be won!!
Camyn is having a playdate today
& Ashlyn starts working her summer job!!
Yep, she wants to work at the shop this summer
& nothing we've said has changed her mind.
So, why not?
She also started karate classes Tuesday night
& will have her 2nd class tonight.
I'm hanging w/the girls
& reading at night.
Not much scrapping at all.
Our summer is staying busy,
but I'm enjoying it so far.
How 'bout yours?

So Sketchy May card

I can't believe it's already May.
Seems like just yesterday
I was posting my first April card
for So Sketchy!!
So, here's my first one for May.
A semi-circular card
that I paired w/new Cosmo Cricket chipboard
& older American Crafts papers.
They match perfectly.
The baseball is even older than the AC.
Some of you might remember years ago
a company made all those cute kids
with matching accessories & borders?
This one was baseball on one side,
golf on the other.
I can't remember the name of the company,
but I still have this border hanging around.
So, I put it to use.

I'll have 2 more cards this month.
And I loved all the sketches.
I'm hoping to get some scrapping done
in the next couple of days.
At the very least,
some new Teacher Appreciation gifts?
If not, I hope your week is blessed!

a new So Sketchy Square card

Here's my 3rd card at So Sketchy for April.
I LOVE how this turned out.
I've used all this yummy MME paper,
but have kept every single scrap.
I used a wonderful journaling jotter
from Creative Chaos.

Not feeling very creative this week.
But I did read a great mystery book titled Black Out
& am currently reading another titled Little Book.
My goal is to read 50 books this year
& I'm not doing a bad job thus far.
Joining the public library was a smart move on my part:)
I hope you're having a blessed week.

2S4U & So Sketchy cards to show!!

Happy happy Monday everyone.
It's a rainy dreary day here
& Ashlyn's Spring Break is officially over:(
I have "biscuit-butt" here w/me though,
she goes back tomorrow.
So, we've planned reading books,
exercising & putting on fake nails!!
Up first is my card this week for 2S4U.
I bought this AC paper in San Destin
& LOVE, LOVE, the bright colors.
I finally packed the "remnants" away.
I used a sentiment stamp from DeNami Designs
& heat embossed for a sparkly shine.

Here's my 2nd April card for So Sketchy.
So Sketchy Square Card sketch.
I used a ticket from Creative Chaos.
I hope you'll check out her etsy,
lots of great things.

Welp, that's all for today.
Off to exercise
& then spend time w/my little one!!

So Sketchy Card & layouts

For the month of April,
So Sketchy was graciously sponsored by
Creative Chaos
The above link will take you to her etsy,
where she has some of the best journaling jotters,
tickets, calendar spots & other cool stuff.
For this card,
I used a journaling jotter that has a cool graphic look.
I also used a printable birthday sentiment from The Cutting Cafe.

We ended up cutting our San Destin trip short.
The weather got a tad too chilly for sun bathing:)
So, I've been scrapping my little heart out.
I mean SCRAPPING ALL DAY LONG!!
I've been focusing on layouts,
since I don't do as many as I should.
Here's a couple I did using some So Sketchy sketches.
This first uses the April 4th layout sketch.
I love scrapping pictures immediately following an event.
These are some pics from San Destin.
The pool water was absolutely freezing,
but you know kids:)

This second layout uses a sketch that was posted
at Scrapbook and Cards Today.
These pics are 3-years old
but it's a favorite pasttime for my parents & girls.
I didn't originally have the border across the top,
but I attempted to Scor-It using my Mini Scor-It,
which is for smaller projects
& I messed it up, so I added the border.
I got these AC papers in San Destin.
Though they are older,
I LOVE them & have used them on several layouts
& cards already. I need to put them away:)

And that's all I have for now.
The girls will be home later today
& I'm so ready to get me some hugs & kisses!!
Thanks for stopping by,
your visit & comments always mean so much to me.

Card Patterns #9 & Use It & So Sketchy

While in San Destin,
I did visit Michael's
& a Scrapbook Warehouse.
I like to visit the Warehouse
for "necessity" items that I might buy in bulk,
since I'm getting such a good deal.
So, I picked up a ton of AC alphabet stickers
found me some newer Prima flowers*score*
& some Bazzill for cheap.
At Michael's,
I picked up these DCWV baby rub-ons.
Not sure why?
But I think it's because I like the colors?
It perfectly matched the ribbon & paper
I got in my monthly Label Tulip kit.

For this layout,
I used a So Sketchy layout sketch,
& combined it with a Use It Challenge #5 by Lori Roop.
The Use It challenge was to use the following:
a) an old scrapbook die - Scenic Route arrow- Loveland collection(old:)
b) old piece of patterned paper - Creative Imaginations (at least 2-years old?)
c) bring back an old technique- for me that's sewing w/my machine instead of by hand
d) something bought on clearance - the SR chipboard letters(got them on clearance)

Did some errands this morning,
then came home to get some sun.
Had a box of scappy goodness land on my porch today,
so I'm off to see what I can create:)
I hope your day is as beautiful & blessed as mine!!

So Sketchy Circle Card sketch

This is my first post for April
with some brand, spankin' new sketches
from Allison over at So Sketchy.
This is a fun circle sketch
that I turned allowing the 3 circles
to be replaced w/the houses & trees.

We're in SanDestin right now
enjoying our Spring Break!!
I hope everyone else is enjoying their week!!

So Sketchy Rectangular card

Here's another sketch from So Sketchy.
I enjoyed making this card
& the design team did an awesome job
of versatility with one sketch.
In place of paper circles,
I hand-stitched using some DMC floss.
I actually used 2 colors to match the paper.
We were also sponsored by the Cutting Cafe again.
So the sentiment is another one of their printables.
I also used some Twistel,
for those of you who remember what that is:)

I can't believe our Spring Break is almost here.
It's start April 6th, but we're leaving April 2nd.
We'll be in SanDestin from the 2nd through the 5th.
Then bringing the girls back to leave for Six Flags on the 6th.
Me & hubby head back to SanDestin through the 9th
only to return in time to greet the girls.
I'm definitely looking forward to some pool & beach time,
but I'm so nervous about letting my girls go.
Okay, that's all for now.......gotta run

So Sketchy card

There's nothin' going on in my neck of the woods.
The weather has & is absolutely gorgeous.
I'm thinking of getting some sun tomorrow.
I've had ZIP, ZERO mojo all week.
I've got things to get done
& no motiviation or gumption to even attempt.
But, I do have a card to show you for So Sketchy.
For this card, I used some more of the fabulous products
from The Cutting Cafe.
The cupcake & the sentiment came from them
& I paired it with some older Basic Grey
I also used my new Martha Stewart cupcake punch.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Weather wise,
I know we will
& if I'm lucky
my mojo will return long enough to get some assignments done!!

Color Inspiration 45 & a Guest Designer Spot

So Sketchy is looking for an April Guest Designer.
Is this something you think you'd be interested in?
Then go here to get all the details.
If you've never seen Allison's sketches,
take the time to browse them,
as she's very talented.
She offers 12x12, 8.5x11 & card sketches.
Check out this post to see some layouts & a card
I recently did using some of Allison's sketches.
Today I did the Color Inspiration 45 challenge.
Such a classic color combo that I adore,
but I HAD to add a splash of color.

FCAT is finally over
& we're thrilled!!
Ashlyn feels she did really well
& I'm sure she did.
We're proud of how hard she worked.
The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous
& it's definitely getting closer to beach/tanning weather!!
Maybe I'll wash my truck this weekend?
Or not:)

So Sketchy card & layouts

*edited to add: This post was supposed to be published Wednesday morning. I just realized it never posted & I'm not sure why? So, it's a day late*

For the month of March,
I got to work with 3 card sketches for So Sketchy.
Today I'm excited to share my first one.
The design team was sponsored by The Cutting Cafe.
They have some of the most versatile, "cuttable"
projects for making so many things.
AND, you can win some of their fabulous product.
Just check out this link at So Sketchy,
to get all the details on how you can enter!
Here's a card I made using some of Making Memories
Sabrina line of products.
Note the "thinking of you" sentiment
in the top left corner which comes from The Cutting Cafe's
All Occassion Word Set 1 Printable Stamps.
Super, super easy to use & the quality is wonderful!!

I also had a chance to work with some March layouts.
I'm finally getting back into doing some layouts,
but I'm not doing as many as I'd like each week.
Here's a layout I did using the March 2nd: 12x12 sketch.
Ironically, I did this layout & had it tucked away,
when I realized it went well w/this sketch.
So, I simply "undid" portions of the layout
& made it work w/the sketch.
I ended up liking it much better this way.

This layout uses the March 4th - 8.5x11 sketch.
I really like how this turned out.
I love to used naked chipboard,
so I didn't bother to do anything w/the tree or butterflies.
I did hand-stitch the butterfly trails though.

And that's all I have for now.
I'm hoping to work w/a few more sketches,
before the end of the week.
Have a blessed Wednesday!!

So Sketchy February Card sketch

This is my second card post
as a So Sketchy Sista card designer.
If you've not seen Allison's sketches,
I hope you will visit the site.
She does sketches for layouts
both single & double-pages, plus cards.
Coupled with the designers,
there's plenty of inspiration to be found.
Here's a card I created using a February sketch.
I coupled a mini Heather Bailey file folder
with some Making Memories Spring Fling.

If you do a project using any February sketch,
don't forget to link back to So Sketchy
to be entered in for the monthly contest.
I'm off to do some shopping.
Hope your Friday is a wonderful day!!

Thanks for visiting!!
