movin' right along

I finally got to take the girls swimming.
The day started off dreary,
but quickly became full sunshine.
We got 2-hrs of pool time
before the clouds took over.
Now they're napping
& I'm anxiously awaiting the rain.
I love the rain,
especially when the girls are napping:)
Here are 2 more cards I got done yesterday.
The first up uses Card Patterns #70.
Remember this gorgeous paper?
Told you I was using some old stuff!!

Supplies: Amy Butler & Fancy Pants paper; Prima flower; Amy Butler rub-on quote; Offray rhinestones; Martha Stewart butterfly punch
For this card,
I used the Taylored Expression Sketch Challenge #118.
I'm not really happy w/how this turned out
& it's because of the sentiment.
I think I would have liked it better
had I simply used some Thickers?
Either way,
I can't remove it w/out tearing what's underneath.
I might still try though......we'll see.
At the very least,
I'll probably make a new card,
as I really liked this sketch.

Supplies: Crate Paper & chipboard; Basic Grey paper; Heidi Grace sentiment stamp; EK Success border punch

Welp, if I'm gonna get anything accomplished,
I need to get off this computer.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Card Patterns #57 & Scrap Happy projects

Happy weekend everyone!!
Been working on more
projects for Scrap Happy.
Here are a few more using
My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers
mixed with Making Memories Lush.
For the card, I used
the current Card Patterns #57 sketch.
This is a quick altered acrylic frame.
I love these pics of the girls
& wanted a little something
to display them in for the house.
I showed a side profile,
in case you're wondering
what type of frame it is.

I've also been working with
the My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue" papers.
I'll show those projects Sunday or Monday?
Have a blessed Sunday!!

Card Patterns #52 *my happiness*

My oldest is home sick today.
At least that's the story she's telling:)
So, I managed to prep
Gyoza for supper tonight
& make a card.
I used Card Patterns #52
& attempted to use the
current Caardvarks challenge,
but didn't succeed:)
I don't think 2 quote stickers
quite makes the challenge,
BUT, it did make me dig these out!!
I also turned the sketch AGAIN!!
I realize I've done this all week,
but it's works for me.
I realize Valentine's is over,
but this could be used for
a variety of other reasons:
anniversary, a child, everyday love, etc.

My youngest is out of school
for the rest of the week,
so not sure what we'll do?
And,
I think my brother & his kids
will be stopping by for supper tonight:)
Pretty excited about that.....................
love my brother & his family (wife out of town).
So, that's all I have for today.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Card Patterns 50 - spread your wings

Feelin' great yesterday.
Got everything done,
I needed to get done,
BEFORE 11:30 AM!!!
So, I got started
on the current Card Patterns 50.
Using some more K&Co Tim Coffey
& I misted w/some Tattered Angels,
though the paper really didn't need it.
I didn't plan it,
but I bought Sunflower & Patina,
which match perfectly w/this line.
When I was done,
I gathered the scraps,
plus scrap butterfly & flowers.
The flowers & butterflies are actually
part of a 12" sticker border.
I simply cut them apart
& layered them w/pop dots.
Anyway, made this one real quick.
Now on to some layouts.

Did you hear we're supposed to get SNOW?
Yep, weather man is calling for snow
in our neck of the woods.
They closed schools......
Crazy I know,
but down here if snow falls,
EVERYTHING closes down.
So fun!!!
I'm really hoping to scrap today,
but I'll have kiddos home,
plus potential snow on the ground:)

I'm lovin' life right now!!

*warning*photo heavy
I have been so busy,
BUT,
it hasn't been too terribly bad.
I've gotten so much accomplished
& have grabbed a few minutes here & there
for scrapping & my girls.
It's a wonderful feeling to stretch my time.
This weekend is my sister's birthday.
As I like to tell EVERYONE,
"my much, much, much older sister:)"
To get the juices flowing,
I decided to use the latest
2S4U - Kazan 38 sketch.
Have you seen their new design team?
AMAZING!!!
I cannot wait to see their creations every week.
For the following 2 cards,
I used NOTHIN' but scraps from my scrap box.

This card is for a party Ashlyn is going to Saturday.
I decided to use Card Patterns #39 for this card.
This was a great sketch,
as the 1/2 circle thingy stretched me.

You might remember last Friday,
my mil was sweet enough to get the girls for me.
I had some time to scrap
& worked on nothing but layouts.
Here are a few I made:
This first one is about our cat & dog
we lost this past May/June.
We lost both within a 1 week time period.

I ADORE this photo.
It was taken at a friend's house
& these 3 are such sweet friends.
It warms my heart to see my girls
make friends with school mates.

This is my traditional "birthday" layout.
Every year I make a layout
with a picture from the previous year
& a current picture.
Then, I let all the party attendees sign.

These are just random pics
I caught of Camryn one night.
She was waiting on me to take her to bed
& I turned around & she was sound asleep!!
This is very unusual for her!

And that is it my friends.
We're going to watch my nephew
play his last game of flag football
& my neice cheer him on tomorrow.
Then we'll be celebrating Anna's bday.
I hope your weekend is full of blessings too!!

guest designer Card Patterns #38

Happy Saturday everyone!!
It's a gorgeous day here
& we're celebrating
my youngest's 5th birthday.
Technically she's not 5 until Thursday,
but who's counting!!

So last week I was selected to be
the guest designer at Card Patterns.
I was honored to be chosen
& I hope you like my card.
I loved the sketch
& immediately knew I wanted to use
this large Jenni Bowlin rub-on butterfly.
The "delicate cycle only" label
came from JoAnn's.
I got a bunch of them years ago
on clearance.
They're labels made for clothes
& I thought it went great w/this butterfly.

"THANKS AGAIN" to Card Patterns
for having me as their guest designer.
I hope you'll play along with the sketch this week.
I'd love to visit you & see what you created.

Card Patterns #37

Another GORGEOUS day here in sunny FL.
It was very windy,
so that made it a bit nippy,
but gorgeous, nonetheless!!
Both girls had playdates over
& they spent all afternoon outside.
I still have bday invites to make
for Camryn's party NEXT Saturday:)
But decided to get my mojo going
with the new sketch from Card Patterns #37.
Instead of using a 1/2 circle,
I decided to use this Making Memories paper
I had hand-cut awhile back & never used.
So, it serves as my 1/2 circle.
I also used the yummy Prima bling
that I hoarde like crazy.
And does anyone recognize
the sticker sentiments?
They are like 50+ years old:)
I can't even tell you how long I've had them.

I was also pretty excited to see this.
I hope you're having a blessed weekend.
We still have a book report to finish for Ashlyn
& then we're home-free until Friday!!
Thanks for visiting me.

Card Patterns #36

Yes this is my 2nd post today,
but I got a card made for my fil's bday
& wanted to go ahead & post it.
I used Card Patterns #36
& it definitely challenged me.
So, sketches are used as "inspiration"
& though you might not be able to see the sketch,
it was definitely instrumental in this card.
It has a velcro closure
so we can add a gift card inside.

I've got supper prepped
& a chocolate cake made & iced.
All we're waiting for are the party guests!!

a productive WCM day for me:)

Because my girls are being good
(& I mean that seriously)
I've gotten quite a bit done today.
The pictures aren't that great,
but you get the idea!!

I'll start with a card I made
using a sketch from Scrapbook and Cards Today.
This is the January sketch
& I like it enough I want to use it again.

These next 2 cards are from Card Patterns #35.
For the 2nd card I flipped the sketch.

This last card uses a sketch from 2S4U.

I also completed 3 layouts,
but I'll save those for another day.
I hope your day has been as productive as mine!!

less than stellar

It doesn't take much time away for me.
After not being able to scrap
for almost 3-4 weeks,
I realize my work has been less than stellar.
Yes I realize we're our own worst critique,
but come on.......................
I know when my work is suckish:)
So, after posting my card yesterday,
I realized I have GOT to get back
into the swing of things.
So, today I made the time to work
with Card Patterns #34.
I wasn't originally planning on using these papers,
but glad I did.
Love the end result.

Then,
because I know my card from yesterday
was pretty bad,
I made another using the 2S4U - Kazan 36 sketch.
I feel muchos better about this one.
Using some of my fav CC papers & Maya Road.

Hoping maybe this has got me back in the groove?
I would really LOVE to be able to scrap more this weekend.
Have any plans for WCMD?

Card Patterns #28

Only one-week.
One-week
& school starts again!!
I am NOT excited!!
I love having my girls home,
& to be honest,
I really hate homework:)
Ashlyn actually starts on Mon
& Camryn starts on Thursday.
Both are w/friends today,
so I've been cleaning house
& did this card today using
Card Patterns #28.

I haven't been in a scrappy mood,
so I don't have anything else to show.
The weather has still been rainy,
but we're gonna try & make this last week
really great for the girls.
Hope you have a blessed week.

Card Patterns #27

I did end up scrapping yesterday!!
Got 3 cards & 1 layout completed.
I won't upload all the projects today,
as I used sketches for the cards.
I'll start with Card Patterns #27 though
American Crafts paper
with some of K&Co's cute epoxy sticker critters.

Hoping to scrap a little more today,
but William is off today,
plus it's my fils bday!!!
Hope your day is filled w/sunshine
& THANKS for stopping by!!

Card Patterns 22

Workin' on the Sr. album,
so no time for anything else.
Girls have been enjoying their friends
& I'm thankful they have some of the sweetest!!
Here's my take on Card Patterns #22.
Sweet Carla made the sketch
& she would cringe to know
I've been hoarding these Prima rhinestone flourishes:)
In fact,
I forgot I had them*yikes*
More October Afternoon,
coupled with a Making Memories metal frame
& some Prima flourishes.

I'm really hoping to be done w/the album today.
Then I've got to prepare
for a card class I'm teaching.
Happy Thursday to you all!!

Card Patterns #20

Would you believe I only got
one card done last night?
We ended up having to pick up Ashlyn.
Camryn was upset because she didn't want to come home.
So we let her stay.
She breaks my heart everyday.
Only 4-years old
& loves being away from home:(
So, I started this card last night
& finished it this morning.
I used the current Card Patterns #20 sketch.
After I took the picture,
I actually redid parts of it.
I'm likin' it much better now.
Supplies sponsored by Scrap Happy of Pensacola.

Not sure what we have planned for today.
It's just too hot to do anything outside.
I hope everyone is staying cool
& enjoying their summer.

Card Patterns #19

Another Monday,
another fun-day:)
We've already been swimming
& the girls are now napping.
So I took advantage of the time
to get bills paid, talk to a mortgage lender
& use Card Patterns 19!!!
I used products supplied by Scrap Happy of Pensacola,
which includes the My Minds Eye & Cosmo Cricket papers
& the cute worm stamp by Imaginisce.

So I have been in the mood to scrap,
but I've just been too dang tired.
It's so hot outside
that whenever we go out & come back inside,
I'm too tired to do much of anything.
Still exercising,
still reading
& it's still summer!!!
I can't complain.

Card Patterns #18

Happy Birthday to my MOM
& Happy hump day to everyone else:)
I managed to make another card,
using the current Card Patterns #18.
I realize the entire card looks wonky crooked,
but it's not.
Photo taking skills............I have not!!
I LOVE this Basic Grey paper
& have hardly even touched it.
But I did pull every piece
of patterned paper,
out of my "scraps" box,
so I'm happy 'bout that.
I also did some machine-stitching
around the edges, but it's hard to tell.

It is my mom's birthday today!!
We'll be celebrating Sat night....Japanese style*yum yum*
I made it to the 1/2 way mark
with my EA Wii Fitness thingy
& have been enjoying it.
We went swimming again today
& I attempted to take a nap,
but that proved pointless.
So, I'm gonna try to scrap
before the girls wake!!
Wish me luck:)

Card Patterns #15

Good Morning to everyone!!
Still using this new K&Co
by artist, Carolyn Gavin.
Everything on this card is her's,
except the journaling card & twine.
I used the current Card Patterns #15.
I liked this sketch,
because I rarely layer my papers
& even rarer then that
do I layer "patterns" of paper.

We're in the last weeks of school
& I couldn't be more eager for it to be over.
Today is Camryn's last day,
but she's been running fever since Sunday.
Each day it gets higher,
so she's home with daddy today.
I guess I need to get up to her school
& get her things?
We're headed to SanDestin this weekend.
Ashlyn's birthday is actually on Memorial Day this year.
Her birthday party was a HUGE hit
& we had some tired little girls Saturday night.
Hoping I get to scrap some more this week,
as I'm finally winding down all the things I "need" to do.
Hope you have a great day too!!

Card Patterns #14

Happy Thursday everyone!!
Another card I got to make*yippee!*
I used Card Patterns #14
I must admit I love this card.
I love the clean, simple & somewhat graphic look.
I had another idea, altogether, for this card,
but I really NEEDED to do some stamping.
This flower stamp is another one I got
in the $1.00 bin at Michael's.
It has a longer stem,
but I obviously didn't use it.

And that's all I have for today.
Trying to get those Sr. album pages finished.
Then I might break out my new
Hello Kitty cartridge & play a little!!

Card Patterns #9 & Use It & So Sketchy

While in San Destin,
I did visit Michael's
& a Scrapbook Warehouse.
I like to visit the Warehouse
for "necessity" items that I might buy in bulk,
since I'm getting such a good deal.
So, I picked up a ton of AC alphabet stickers
found me some newer Prima flowers*score*
& some Bazzill for cheap.
At Michael's,
I picked up these DCWV baby rub-ons.
Not sure why?
But I think it's because I like the colors?
It perfectly matched the ribbon & paper
I got in my monthly Label Tulip kit.

For this layout,
I used a So Sketchy layout sketch,
& combined it with a Use It Challenge #5 by Lori Roop.
The Use It challenge was to use the following:
a) an old scrapbook die - Scenic Route arrow- Loveland collection(old:)
b) old piece of patterned paper - Creative Imaginations (at least 2-years old?)
c) bring back an old technique- for me that's sewing w/my machine instead of by hand
d) something bought on clearance - the SR chipboard letters(got them on clearance)

Did some errands this morning,
then came home to get some sun.
Had a box of scappy goodness land on my porch today,
so I'm off to see what I can create:)
I hope your day is as beautiful & blessed as mine!!

Color Inspiration 46; Card Patterns #7 & Use It

I'm still muddling through my creativity.
I know we all get in these slumps from time-to-time
& it seems that during these times
is when I have the best ideas.
I just can't seem to get them to come together.
I can't tell you how many cards
I've made in the past week that will never be seen:)
It's all part of the process......I'm sure.
But through it all,
I did make 2 cards, I'm somewhat okay with.
The first is my take on the latest Color Inspiration challenge.
I'm enjoying these challenges for 1 simple reason:
STAMPING!
I have more stamps than a person has a right to
& they are sadly neglected.
So, these challenges make me use them.
NOT that I have to use them,
but I choose to & I'm glad.
For this card, I used a flower stamp by October Afternoon
paired w/some watermark ink & holographic embossing powder.
The sentiment is even stamped in a Hero Arts "soft pink"
though it probably looks white,
& the DMC floss is a light pink color.
I know it's nothing great,
but I used some stamps I've never used
& that's what counts......to me, at least:)

My 2nd card is based off 2 challenges:
Card Patterns #7 sketch
& Use It's #3 challenge.
The Use It challenge was to use:
eyelets, which I did on my "berry bush:)"
polka dots, which I did on my green border paper
something more than 1 year old, which my AC stickers qualify

So, that's all I have.
Girls were home from school today
for teacher planning day
but the weather has been overcast
& extremely windy.
Maybe I'll work on some layouts?

Thanks for visiting!!
