CPS 176

Thursday already!!
*whew*
What a week!!
Girls have dentist appts today,
so not much playing planned.
Here's a card I finished yesterday,
using the CPS 176 sketch.
I still have remanents of
this lovely paper left,
so I trying to use it up.
I might add some bling
underneath & just above
the bottom rose?

Look for this card in the January 2011 CARDS publication

That's all for today.
I hope your week has been blessed!!

not happenin'

For 10-days I've been sick.
Though I feel much better,
I still have minor congestion in my throat
& a nagging cough.
So trying to run my normal
2 1/2 miles today wasn't happenin'!!
I even got winded doing a few
light weights.
I'll be glad when I'm 100% again!!
This is seriously wearing me out:)
On another note,
I did manage to scrap today.
For this card,
I used the current 2S4U - Laura #55 sketch.
After finishing the card,
I realized I wanted it to look more like the sketch...
ya know, longer from left-to-right, but it didn't.
Oh well!!
Look for this card in the January 2011 CARDS publication.
I did a layout too,
but forgot to take a picture.
I'll upload later.
I've also been doing my summer reading.
I have always loved to read,
& can get completely engrossed in a book ,
not wanting to put it down until I'm finished.
The one I just finished is one of those type books.
"Firefly Lane"
If you've not read this book,
go to your local library or bookstore.
It's a MUST read!!
LOVED it!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Crazy 4 Challenges #35

Happy Sunday!!
The weather is still gloomy,
so while everyone's been napping,
I've been scrappin'!!
I'm always finding, new to me, sketch sites.
Crazy 4 Challenges is my newest.
For this card, I used the C4C35 sketch.

Look for this card in the October 2010 issue of CARDS

Before you start wondering how this looks like the sketch,
let me explain my process.
The minute I saw the sketch,
I immediately replaced the oval
with this hot air balloon stamp.
I paired with the map paper
& used my "divisions" on the outer edges
instead of down the middle.
Hopefully you can "see" the sketch,
if not,
it was definitely my inspiration for the card.
I did make another card,
but I'll probably save it for tomorrow.
I hope your weekend was great.
I can't believe it's already gone.
I'm sooooo ready for summer!!
Thanks for stopping by!

TESC #111 *2nd post*

Still not getting much accomplished.
At least,
not in the scrapping sense!!
I made a card using the current TESC #111.
When I was finished,
I didn't think anyone would recognize the sketch,
so I made another card (no arm twisting over here:)

Look for this card in the October 2010 issue of CARDS magazine

Supplies: Pink Paislee Queen Bee papers; die; cork; acrylic stamp & brad; Pink Paislee letters

This is just a quick layout I made yesterday.
Hubby showed Ashlyn how to shoot his Red Ryder.
She thought it was fun,
but didn't have too much interest.
Must be a boy thing.

I still have about an hour left
before the family arrives home.
So, I'll see about getting something done.

A Card a Day by PaperCrafts

It's Black Friday,
& I bet a lot of you are out shopping!!
NOT me:)
Me & my 2 girls are home.
I'm actually cleaning
& wanting to scrap.
My desk is a complete mess right now,
so I'll be cleaning it up
& hoping to get some projects completed.
In the meantime,
I got my copy of this magazine in the mail:

I'd been anxiously awaiting it,
as I have 2 cards inside.
One in the month of April
& one in the month of November.
TONS of great inspiration & talent!!
I hope you're having a wonderful Thanksgiving
& if you're shopping,
getting tons of great deals!!
Hopefully I'll have something to share
later today or tomorrow!!

it's the weekend

After working, part-time,
for about 2 1/2 weeks,
I've gained a better appreciation
for the weekend!!!
I was really looking forward to Saturday.
It's World Cardmaking Day
& I was hoping to spend the entire day
scrapping to my hearts content.
But, it doesn't look like that's going to happen,
so, I'll just squeeze in whatever I can get:)
The other day I did get to play with CPS #135.
The sketch was fairly simple
& I didn't try to change it up.
Using some CC Boyfriend
& keepin' it simple!!

Look for this card in the March 2010 issue of CARDS

I'm really, really tired,
& I need to get the girls picked up.
We might even go out to eat?
Then, since William is out of town,
I was going to scrap late into the evening/morning,
but I don't think my sleepy eyes will last?
Whatever your plans this weekend....
I hope they are wonderfully blessed!!

end of a good week!!

It's so easy to let negative get you down,
so I really focused on my blessings today.
The first week of school has come to an end.
Both girls love their teacher
& have enjoyed school!!
It's been a good week.
I'm still battling increativity.
Is that even a word?
I managed to make 2 cards,
using some sketches from CPS.
The first uses last week's CPS #129.
Again I used scraps,
& this one came together fairly quick.

This second card uses this weeks CPS 130
and it didn't come together quickly.
I used a Studio Calico postcard
& cut the dress & girl
from some of their papers.
I relooked at the design teams work
& I'm blown away by the talent.
They made this sketch look so easy.
In the end,
I like how it turned out.

Look for this card in the February 2010 issue of CARDS magazine

My in-laws took the girls to dinner tonight.
I'm thankful for the much needed break,
so I'm trying to scrap.
It might help if I turned off the tv:)

2S4U - Laura 23 sketch

I'm playing with some new goodies
I got yesterday afternoon.
I really want to get more of this
Sassafras paper line........it's adorable.
Since I made a giftcard holder
for Laura 23rd sketch,
I came back to the sketch for a card.
Isn't that hippo the cutest?

Look for this card in the September 2009 issue of CARDS magazine.

That's all for today.
Gotta wrap up a few loose ends
before the girlies get home:)

2Sketches 4 U Monday

Happy Monday to you!!
Today there is a new sketch at 2 Sketches 4 U.
This week is Kazan's week for a beautiful sketch.
Sakura is our sponsor this week
& we are doing something a little different.
To help celebrate Youth Art Month,
2 Sketches 4 U is hosting "two" challenges.
The first is our regular weekly sketch
and the 2nd challenge is for a child!!
So, if you have a son/daughter, neice/nephew,
granddaughter/grandson............whomever,
have them make a card too.
It doesn't have to follow the sketch,
but if they want to use it............Great!!
Don't forget to upload BOTH of your cards
so we can oooohhhh & aaaahhh over everyone's work.
So, here is my take on Kazan's sketch.
A card we gave to Ashlyn's teacher,
along w/a bag of Starbucks coffee.
She helped so much in preparing the kids for FCAT,
we thought she deserved a little something too.

Please look for this in the October 2009 CARDS

And, here is Ashlyn's take on the sketch.
Since her teacher LOVES coffee,
she saw this AC coffee cup & wanted to use it.
I cut her card base & the yellow paper,
but she did everything else, including tieing the bow.
It does look very similar to mine,
but that makes her happy!!

The design team did a GORGEOUS job....
I'm always amazed at their take on creativity.
AND their kiddos.............
OH MY.............you MUST go check out their work.
I can't wait to see what everyone creates.
So grab a little one,
some scrapbook supplies
& get to creating!!!!

2Sketches 4 U - Laura 20

This week we had the privilege of working with
product from Creative Cuts and More.
They generously donated some die-cut items
& allowed us to have free-rein on what we created.
If you haven't seen the rest of the design teams creations,
PLEASE go check them out.
They are absolutely gorgeous.
Here is what I made,
using a French Fry die-cut box.

You can view this project, as a tutorial, in the March issue of Scrapbook News & Review.

This was so fun & easy to make.
I will give this to Ashlyn's teacher for Easter,
and fill with some chocolate goodness, of course:)I did make another project,
using the same clear card some of the other design team ladies used.
So, I hope you will come back,
later this week & take a peek.

2 Sketches 4 U - Julie's bonus sketch

I love the look of digital
I love the "challenge" of digital
I dislike the fact I'm computer illiterate
when it comes to figuring out photo programs.
So, I "dabble" a tad in digi
& every now & again I'll get a hankerin'
to do something digital.
When I saw this too adorable Kawaii Cute Fruit kit
from Kitschy's Digitals,
I knew I wanted to make something using these fruits.
So, Julie's bonus sketch at 2Sketches 4 U
was my perfect opportunity to put this kit to use.
Isn't it just so fun & cute?
I printed everything onto white Bazzill,
so the pink background & blue print
are both "digi patterned paper"
and the label w/strawberry is also digital.

Please look for this card in Scrapbook Trends August 2009 issue

I made another card using this kit,
because I simply couldn't resist.
You can see it here:)
If you buy this kit,
please come back & share with me your creation!!

CPS 103 Part 2 *hybrid*

I decided to do another CPS 103 card.
I didn't like my first one at all
& even after posting,
attempted to take it apart.
So tonight,
I played around with one of Kitschy's Digi kits
Kawaii Cute Fruit kit........it's ADORABLE!!
So, I present to you a hybrid card:)
I printed the lemon on Bazzill, cut
& added to my traditional scrapping stuff,
which also happened to be SCRAPS from my STASH!!

You can see this card in the March issue of Scrapbook News & Review

I like this card way more than my first:)
So, I made another card with this kit,
using Julie's bonus sketch for 2Sketches 4 U
You can check it out on this post:)
Adios amigos!!

CPS 97 & 2 Sketches 4 U

I'm finally trying to get back into the swing of things.
I'm not looking forward to Monday at all.
School starts back up
& I'm going to miss having the girls with me,
not to mention the awful hour I have to start getting up.
I'm also purging, cleaning, reflecting & deciding about resolutions.
I've never really been a resolution type of gal.
Goal setter?
YES!! Definitely!!
and I think that's the path I will continue.
I managed to meet most of my 2008 goals,
with the exception of a couple, but I tried
& I'm good with that!!
Yesterday I spent a little bit of time working on sketches.
Here's my take on CPS 97:

Please look for this card in THIS magazine October 2009
Sorry for the bad picture,
but the transparency had a glare.
I layered 2 Maya Road chipboard crowns
& glittered them & added rhinestones.
I also did the current 2 Sketches Laura 16:

Look for this card in the June 2009 issue of CARDS magazine.
and here's my take on Katie's bonus sketch:

The girls are w/my parents today,
I'm finishing up laundry so we'll have clothes this week
& I'll be scrapping in between!!
Hope your New Year has kicked off to a super start!!

2Sketches 4 U & a *TOOT*

Hello outside world:)
I hope everyone is truly enjoying this time of year!!
I've been so busy finishing up teacher gifts
& just Christmasy things in general.
I'm feeling pretty tired,
but after school tomorrow,
I'm home-free for a couple of weeks!!

I do have some exciting *TOOTS* to share;
I got a card picked up by Scrapbook Trends,
AND, I got several cards picked up by PaperCrafts
for their Card Creations Volume 7.
Pretty excited about both of these:)

So, here are my final teacher projects.
Another container filled w/my homemade hot chocolate
& a tin of chocolates.

All the gifts have been neatly wrapped,
with other items, in a giftbasket for school tomorrow!

I also had a chance to play with the 2Sketches 4 U Laura sketch.
I love these Basic Grey papers
& wish I had more, but I'm down to scraps!!

Look for this card in the June 2009 issue of CARDS magazine.

I've got Christmas parties for both girls tomorrow
& then nothing planned afterwards,
except maybe a nap:)
I hope you all have a very blessed Thursday!!

Some exciting TOOTS and CPS 86

So, this week has been a good one for me.
Not only did I get emails from Scrapbook News & Review,
but I also got 3 cards picked up for the March 2009 issue of CARDS magazine,
PLUS, remember this tree?

Well, PaperCrafts emailed & asked if I would mail it back to them.
Seems they want to use it for a TV program they are going to do!!
I couldn't be happier, because this tree took me FOREVER to make:)
I just hope I get it back in time for the Christmas holidays!!

In the meantime, I've been struggling with CPS 86.
This was a challenging sketch for me,
but I started with this idea,
and I just could not let it go.
So, it sat on my desk all week until tonight.

The design team work at CPS was especially inspiring this week.
Maybe it's because I had such a hard time w/the sketch?
Not my best work (IMHO), but I"m happy with it,
or am I just happy I got it done:)
Either way, it's one I would give to someone,
so, YES, I'm pleased with it!!

I'm still not in my scraproom much lately,
and hoping I will be this weekend.
I've got a "girls weekend" planned for the girls.
Both will be having friends over for sleep-overs,
so I'm wanting to plan some fun things for them to do!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday
and maybe I'll get to scrap some!!

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Hey.............where'd everyone go? I have to TOOT!!

Or should I say..............
where did I go?

I gotta toot *blush*
I just got an email requesting 3 cards for Scrapbook News & Review.
Not sure if the calls are finished yet,
but good luck to everyone else that submitted:)

It's unusual for me not to blog for a week.
But I ended up being sick all last week,
only to get better in time for my dad's 60th bday party,
which was being held at my house on Saturday.
On the way to church Sunday,
I realized I was getting a migraine,
which only intensified as the day wore on.
I've been battling it ever since.
Carrying ice-packs in the truck,
just to get a little bit of relief.
So, even though I tried to scrap yesterday,
it just wasn't happen', so I quit trying.
I started this card & finally finished it up this afternoon.
I used Kazan's sketch #11 & some new Sassafras & Cosmo Cricket.

I also made these Thank You cards last week.
I was going to give them to Camryn's teacher.
She's expecting her first baby & I figured she could use some.
I forgot to give them to her with her present:)
I'll probably just list them in my Etsy.

Otherwise, not much else going on in my neck of the woods.
I got some new Cuttlebug embossing folders
& 2 new Martha Stewart punches,
so I am anxious to get the juices flowin' again & scrap!!
Hope you're all having a wonderful week!

Results of World Card-making Day!

So did you get a lot of cards made during National World Card-Making Day?
I didn't, though I wish I could have.
Instead I attended our local Deaf Festival, as a vendor.
I didn't anticipate selling anything, as it was only the 2nd year.
But I'm pleased to report I did sell all my altered items
and now have shelf room to make more things for Christmas:)
Once I got home, I got the kiddos down for a much needed nap
and quickly browsed my blog favorites for challenges.
I quickly came to Carla Moralia's Blog where she had 2 challenges posted.
I got the first one done, which was a sketch
& plan on doing the Pink card challenge too.
I have a very special someone in mind for that one!
Before I started my card-making though,
I decided to grab my 2 boxes of "scrap" papers.
I made these cards using only "scraps"
and plan on continuing that to get rid of some of this stuff.
I plan on giving this to my sweet hubby.
Our 11th anniversary is the 22nd of this month,
so THANKS CARLA for the inspiration!!

This second card was made using a sketch
from 2 Sketches 4 U by Laura.
Once again, only scraps on this.
They had 2 sketches posted & I'm working on the other now.

And that's all I have to show,
but I sure hope you all got loads done
& had fun while doing so!!
Have a wonderful & happy Monday everyone!!

A very productive weekend....................

I ended up with an extremely productive weekend.
Not only with my scrapping, but with household chores & family.
How I managed that.................who knows,
but it makes me happy.

The first card I have to show is one I made using Carla's Card Tutorial.
Most of you know I make tons of cards, so why a tutorial?
Well, I admire so many people's work
& often wonder what their tips, tricks & secrets are.
Not that Carla shared any "secrets," but I appreciate her doing the tutorial.

The biggest thing I learned from her tutorial
is how she ties the black twine around the bow
BEFORE adhering the bow.
I had always adhered my bow
& then used glue or a pop dot to adhere my layered buttons.
A great step that will save me on adhesive:)
So, here's my card & I'm really happy with it.

Before tackling the cards,
I was still in my "layout" mode & did 2 layouts.
The first using Sketch This 68.
I needed a sketch like this for these 2 odd pictures.
Might be hard to tell, but my oldest is dressing my youngest
in baby doll clothes!!
The 2nd picture shows my cute fabric covered button I made.
I bought some of the cutest Japanese fabric from the ButtonBoutique.
& immediately went to work making me some buttons!

For this last layout I used Triple the Sketch 26.
I got these Glitz papers from Label Tulip,
and boy were they GENEROUS!!!
I ordered a couple of add-ons this month
and I got TONS of Glitz paper & rhinestones & alpha stickers.
So, I hand-cut the pink designs out for this layout,
and used some Pressed Petal letters I've had forever!!

This last card is just an extra I made
after doing Carla's tutorial & Christine's sketch challenge.
I now have another set to add to my stash.

And I think that's about all.
I am hoping to make a few more things tonight,
but I'm really tired from my weekend:)
I hope you all have a fabulous Monday!

PaperCrafts Holidays Cards & More Volume 3

I am sooooooooooooooooo friggin' excited.........all over again!!
Here is the Button Christmas tree I made!!
Right on the FRONT cover
of Holiday Cards & More!!!!
WOW!!!
I know if you go to PaperCrafts website, this is a "Preorder."
Not sure when it starts shipping to stores & such?
I "thought" they said it was for October,
so maybe soon!!

Otherwise, staying busy.
I started my Bible Study Fellowship class today.
Pretty excited about this as well, since I get to see
ladies from last year & my sister will be coming this year.
That makes me really happy!!
And, I'm also working on a shadowbox that someone asked me to make for a gift.
I think I want to make some Christmas cards too.
I haven't even looked through this mag yet & I'm in the Christmas mood.

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!!

Creatively Yours #8; 2 Sketches 4 U & still TOOTIN'!!

Here's my take on Creatively Yours-Card Sketch #8.
The site offers card & layout sketches.
If you get a chance, check them out.

See this card in the March 2009 CARDS magazine

I also did the 2 Sketches 4 U - Kazan #5 sketch.
I pulled out my new SEI Poppy line for this one.
I need to use more of these papers.............so yummy!!

AND...............................I got 4 cards picked up by Scrapbook News and Review.
They are an on-line magazine that offers subscriptions for a really good price.
If you've never seen one of their issues, they are definitely worth the "read."

Not much else around here, except trying to stay cool.
The weather is threatening to rain, which would be a good thing.
It's too hot to do much outside, unless you're in the water.
Even the pets are staying indoors:)
Hoping to scrap more today, but have to fix lunch & decide what to make for supper!!
Happy Tuesday to you all!!

Thanks for visiting!!
