PaperCrafts Gourmet Magazine
You can go to their website & preorder the magazine.
Here's a link where you can purchase this magazine
I'm going to include some additional information they sent me
regarding some Cheesy Garlic biscuits
& a cute Halloween project.
Here’s the recipe:
Cheesy Garlic Drop Biscuits
Alisa Bangerter
This is a perfect recipe to pull out if you are short on time because there is no rolling or cutting. The cheese and garlic add extra kick to a plain biscuit, and kids love them. They are the perfect accompaniment to serve with soups or stews, and are great served with a salad.
INGREDIENTS
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 1/4 c. milk
Chives (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in butter with pastry cutter until mixture is fine. Add cheese and mix well. Add milk and stir until just moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Sprinkle top with chopped dried or fresh chives if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 15 minutes.
And the supplies and instructions for the project:

A Happy Birthday & So Sketchy Card
my youngest dd came into the world.
It's been a whirlwind ever since.
She is definitely my feisty, independent, demanding of the two,
but I wouldn't have her any other way!!
She wore an "I'm 4" ribbon to school today
& took goodie bags for the kids in her class.
I checked her out early
& brought her "Donald's" for lunch!!
After Ashlyn gets home from school,
she gets to open one of her presents & she's so excited!!
I already have her birthday card made,
but I needed one for my older sister,
who has a November 8th bday.
You might remember I started making one the other day,
but it ended up as a baby card?
So, a couple of weeks ago I found this sketch site through Christine's Penaflor's blog.
I haven't had a chance to work with any of their sketches until now.
Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to spend time w/a sweet friend.
She allowed me to play with her Cricut Expression
& we decided to cut this card & butterfly.
Once I got home, I used the So Sketchy Card October #2 sketch
to complete this for my sister.
I love how it turned out
& it helps I had these gorgeous Daisy Ds papers
that I purchased from Just Let Me Scrapbook.
Don't forget about the 30% off your entire purchase
& you can get this paper pack too!!
I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday.
I know I am!!!

2 Sketches 4 U - Kazan 12 & a scrapping coupon
I've got a busy week ahead of me with Halloween,
Camryn's 4th birthday Wednesday,
and her party, plus my sister's (combined) on Saturday.
So, I decided to make my sister's birthday card
using 2 Sketches 4 U - Kazan's #12 sketch.
As you can see............it's not a birthday card:)
I'll try to use the Bonus sketch for another card.
In the meantime, I need some sleep!!
The weather is getting colder & feeling more like Fall.
I think we're going to be cold for Halloween,
something we don't usually get.
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!!
And, if you're wanting a good deal on scrapbook supplies, go to Just Let Me Scrapbook & get MONSTER SAVINGS with this frighteningly GREAT offer! 2 Sketches 4 U - Laura #11
my computer has been "updating" all day.
Seriously.................ALL day!!
I rebooted at 11:00 this morning,
Microsoft decided to update
and it didn't finish updating & reboot until after 7:00 tonight!!
Geez!!!
I guess it was good though
because in between running around,
helping with homework & household chores,
I made my very first pop-up card.
This was fun & I love how my card turned out.
Is that okay to say?
.jpg)
I took a side angle, so you could see my pop-up.
I actually did 2 of them, one smaller then the other
so I could stagger the "be merry" & the trees.
The pretty snowflake on the front is actually a lapel pin.
I bought these 2-3 years ago? in blue & pink.
It worked perfectly with this card.
So, what are your plans for the weekend?
Ashlyn will be going to see HSM 3 w/her bff
& NO, I'm not taking her:)
We'll be having a yard sale on Saturday,
so if you live close-by,
please come buy stuff & get it out of my house:)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone
& thanks for stopping by!!

CPS 87
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
We sure did.
The weather here in sunny, Florida has been perfect.
No humidity, a slight breeze & cool temps.
I've had the windows open everyday
& the temp inside has stayed a cool 70 degrees.
I love this time of year!!
So, yesterday I worked on the current CPS 87 sketch.
I really enjoyed this sketch & will probably make some more using it.
I started off with one of these:
It's the packaging from a Cuttlebug embossing template
and it ended up like this.
but I enjoyed making it.
The ribbon at the top & the present is on the outside of the package
Everything else is on the inside.
It's also hard to see I used Stickle
as my choice to lighten up my stamped images.
I am working on some other things,
but I feel like I'm on idea overload:)
Guess that's better then no ideas at all!!

Weekend Randomness
but for us it's not:)
For whatever reason,
our public schools are out tomorrow,
instead of last Monday, which was Columbus Day.
So, we've had our "3rd" daughter over since Saturday afternoon.
She'll be with us until school Tuesday morning.
We went to church this morning,
then came home & while the kids played outside,
William & I went room-by-room
& cleaned out things for our yard sale.
Yep, I really, really dislike yard sales,
but we could use the extra money
& lord knows we have enough stuff that could be sold.
Needless to say,
I'm now exhausted from being on my feet all day
& hauling things from small quarters down into the garage.
I also managed to make a loaf of scrumptious Banana Nut Bread,
which is almost gone now:)
Yesterday, I did get some layouts done.
I've really been needing to work on some layouts.
So, I got busy & got the following done.
This first shows pics of my nephew & Ashlyn.
He did NOT want her to drive his John Deere.
He was fine w/her riding in it, but NOT driving.
He tried pushing her out, pulling her out & even sitting on her.
She finally gave up & got out:)
These are just random pics of my girls being sweet together.
I know there will come a day when I won't see much of this,
so I documented it for them, just as much for me.
I love this 6x12 size.
This is my fav from the 3.
I used Tinkering Inks new "green" paper line.
I originally bought this paper for the back,
which has a ton of smaller butterflies.
I was going to hand-cut them all out.
But, the minute I saw this side, I knew what I wanted to do.
I exacto-cut the butterflies from the paper, but not completely,
ruffled & crumpled their wings for dimension.
Then, hand-cut butterflies from the opposite side
& pasted them on this side.
The paper also had circle patterns on it,
which I exacto-knifed & ruffled the edges.
This gave it a more dimensional look
& I love how it turned out.
Just pics of the girls being crafty at my scrap desk.
I though it was so sweet of Ashlyn to put Camryn up there
where she could watch & help:)
That's all I have for now.
Though I'm exhausted, I'm still gonna try to scrap.
No school tomorrow, so I can stay up later:)

Some exciting TOOTS and CPS 86
Not only did I get emails from Scrapbook News & Review,
but I also got 3 cards picked up for the March 2009 issue of CARDS magazine,
PLUS, remember this tree?
Well, PaperCrafts emailed & asked if I would mail it back to them.
Seems they want to use it for a TV program they are going to do!!
I couldn't be happier, because this tree took me FOREVER to make:)
I just hope I get it back in time for the Christmas holidays!!
In the meantime, I've been struggling with CPS 86.
This was a challenging sketch for me,
but I started with this idea,
and I just could not let it go.
So, it sat on my desk all week until tonight.
The design team work at CPS was especially inspiring this week.
Maybe it's because I had such a hard time w/the sketch?
Not my best work (IMHO), but I"m happy with it,
or am I just happy I got it done:)
Either way, it's one I would give to someone,
so, YES, I'm pleased with it!!
I'm still not in my scraproom much lately,
and hoping I will be this weekend.
I've got a "girls weekend" planned for the girls.
Both will be having friends over for sleep-overs,
so I'm wanting to plan some fun things for them to do!!
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday
and maybe I'll get to scrap some!!
Tuesday, October 14, 2008
Hey.............where'd everyone go? I have to TOOT!!
Or should I say..............
where did I go?
I gotta toot *blush*
I just got an email requesting 3 cards for Scrapbook News & Review.
Not sure if the calls are finished yet,
but good luck to everyone else that submitted:)
It's unusual for me not to blog for a week.
But I ended up being sick all last week,
only to get better in time for my dad's 60th bday party,
which was being held at my house on Saturday.
On the way to church Sunday,
I realized I was getting a migraine,
which only intensified as the day wore on.
I've been battling it ever since.
Carrying ice-packs in the truck,
just to get a little bit of relief.
So, even though I tried to scrap yesterday,
it just wasn't happen', so I quit trying.
I started this card & finally finished it up this afternoon.
I used Kazan's sketch #11 & some new Sassafras & Cosmo Cricket.
I also made these Thank You cards last week.
I was going to give them to Camryn's teacher.
She's expecting her first baby & I figured she could use some.
I forgot to give them to her with her present:)
I'll probably just list them in my Etsy.
Otherwise, not much else going on in my neck of the woods.
I got some new Cuttlebug embossing folders
& 2 new Martha Stewart punches,
so I am anxious to get the juices flowin' again & scrap!!
Hope you're all having a wonderful week!

CPS 85
I'm trying to come out of my sick funk.
Thinkin' I managed to get a stomach virus
and all I've done for 2 days is stay in bed.
I've been up for a couple of hours now
& managed to get CPS 85 finished.
Used my macro lense,
so the right side of the card is blurry.
Otherwise, lots of new Sassafrass *yum*
Hoping to scrap some tonight,
but I might just try to get a good nights sleep!!

2 Sketches 4 U Laura 10 sketch & Christine's Christmas card challenge
but I did use some papers I've been wanting to use
& was able to combine Christine's Christmas Card challenge
& 2 Sketches 4 U Laura's 10 sketch.
I have more of these My Minds Eye sentiments,
& matching paper for more cards
& I also have some gift tag stickers to make some gift tags.
Feelin' much better than earlier today
& hoping I'm not trying to get the flu!!
I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!!

THINK PINK challenge; 2 Sketches 4 U Bonus sketch & a TOOT!!!
I'm still widdling away at WCMD challenges,
& still using nothing but paper scraps for my cards.
I knew I wanted to do this next challenge.
For the first time in my life,
I had someone dear to me become diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
She is the absolute sweetest person you will ever meet
& it broke my heart,
BUT, she has a strong faith in God
and a strong husband & family to support her.
So, when I saw this challenge, Carla Peicheff's THINK PINK challenge,
I knew I was going to make something.
I used some origami paper, adding lace & flowers for a feminine touch.
I love how it turned out & THANK YOU Carla,
for making me get this done.
done & it was another sketch by Carla Peicheff.
I pieced rhinestones together for the dragonfly
& love the way it turned out.
My flower is from a pack I bought at Michael's eons ago.
This is only the 2nd time I've used it & need to use them more.
And last, but certainly not least:)
I'm going to be published in the April 2009 issue of Scrapbooks Etc.!!
I'm so stinkin' excited about this, as this is my favorite magazine!!
That's all I have for now.
I think I'm trying to get sick:(
I was in bed by 8:20 last night with body aches
& though I'm not feverish or anything else like that,
I'm extremely fatigued & my body just wants to stay in bed.
I'm still hoping to make a few more things today though:)
Thanks for stopping by!!
2 challenges in 1
but I finished another card,
so I'm going to post it:)
For this one, I used 2 challenges.
Christine's challenge, which was to use a punch or die-cut
& Kazan's challenge at 2 Sketches 4 U.
The white center is a scallop punch, so it fits Christine's challenge.
And that's all I have for now.
I did make 2 bookmarks,
but I put them in my Etsy.
I got most of my house-cleaning done yesterday,
so I'm hoping to scrap some today!!
Happy Monday everyone!!

Results of World Card-making Day!
I didn't, though I wish I could have.
Instead I attended our local Deaf Festival, as a vendor.
I didn't anticipate selling anything, as it was only the 2nd year.
But I'm pleased to report I did sell all my altered items
and now have shelf room to make more things for Christmas:)
Once I got home, I got the kiddos down for a much needed nap
and quickly browsed my blog favorites for challenges.
I quickly came to Carla Moralia's Blog where she had 2 challenges posted.
I got the first one done, which was a sketch
& plan on doing the Pink card challenge too.
I have a very special someone in mind for that one!
Before I started my card-making though,
I decided to grab my 2 boxes of "scrap" papers.
I made these cards using only "scraps"
and plan on continuing that to get rid of some of this stuff.
I plan on giving this to my sweet hubby.
Our 11th anniversary is the 22nd of this month,
so THANKS CARLA for the inspiration!!
This second card was made using a sketch
from 2 Sketches 4 U by Laura.
Once again, only scraps on this.
They had 2 sketches posted & I'm working on the other now.
And that's all I have to show,
but I sure hope you all got loads done
& had fun while doing so!!
Have a wonderful & happy Monday everyone!!

Pencil Lines #104
Yippee...............it's Friday!!!
I really enjoy the weekends,
probably because I have both my girls home,
and everything is less rushed.
Earlier this week,
I managed to do the Pencil Lines 104 sketch.
I didn't think it would take me all week to upload it though.
For those that know me irl,
I'm not one to bring attention to myself,
and that includes dressing up real purty like!!
So, when Ashlyn's dance team had their end-of-year banquet,
and I heard it was a "semi-formal" affair!!!
Well, let's just say anxiety kicked in months before the event.
Aside from my own wedding & siblings weddings I've been a part of,
I've NEVER had an occassion to wear anything formal,
muchless semi-formal.
At first I tried to tell Daddy that all the father's were taking their daughters!!
That didn't work when he found out the father's usually don't attend:(
So, I had to go out & find a semi-formal dress,
something I've never had to do before.
I found 2 I liked & let the girls decide which one I would wear.
Should have known they would pick the more expensive one:)
Anyway, so the title of this layout comes from the fact
that I felt pretty because I never get to dress-up like this.
Sadly, I have no idea when I'll ever wear the dress again.
But I love the chocolate brown against this silvery blue.
So tomorrow is National Card-Making day.
Are you celebrating?
I will be..............sorta.
I'll be at a local Deaf Festival trying to sell
some of my handmade cards and other creations.
I'm trying to finish up my displays for the booth
and then I'll be all set for tomorrow.
I'm hoping I can get a few cards made this weekend,
but right now it's not looking like it will happen.
I hope you all enjoy yourselves though &,
get TONS of cards made (think Christmas:)
and win lots of goodies!!
Happy Weekend everyone!!

Happy October 1st!!
Wow!!
Hard to believe more than 1/2 the year is gone,
and my youngest baby will be 4!!!!.
Just a few things to share this morning.
First, I want to say "THANK You Christine!!"
I won a RAK drawing on her blog & I'm so excited.
If you've never visited her blog,
please do so, as she's an extremely talented scrapper.
She's got the cutest tutorial on her blog,
plus she's got more give-aways for the October 4th Card Making Day.
I'm hoping to make a few cards,
but I'll be at a local Deaf Festival with my sister.
Though she is not deaf, she has sponsored a booth for her business
and asked if I wanted to sell some handmade items.
So, I'll be there with mainly cards & a few altered things.
Wish me luck!!
My sister also called yesterday about this:
Are we ready for another cat?
Not sure, but she's home with us for now.
She's a cute, tiny, all-black thing with no name.
I'm leaning towards Emma & Ashlyn likes the name,
but Daddy doesn't, so now Ashlyn says she doesn't?
This kitty is 2-weeks younger than Bandit was when we first brought him home,
so it's been a little different.
If it doesn't work out, my sister said she'd take her,
but I've a feeling she'll be a keeper.
So far, she's just as sweet as Bandit & that's what we loved so much about him.
I do have a Pencil Lines layout I completed yesterday,
but haven't had time to photograph it.
I'm off to my bible study class,
so I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!!
