Card Patterns #4

The weather here is so dreary.
High winds with off & on rain.
The girls are bored,
with not much to do,
so they're stuck inside with me:)
We have dinner plans later,
so they'll have a little reprive.
Since there's not much to do,
I've been trying to scrap,
but even that is coming slow.
Amazing how the weather can affect your mood.
Regardless, I did a card using Card Patterns #4.
A simple card using Amy Butler butterflies,
Daisy D rub-on & a K&Co. border topped w/rhinestones.

Hopefully your weekend has been more fun-filled than ours:)
At least we still have Sunday!!

Color Inspiration #43

I bet some of you are saying,
"Thank goodness it's Friday?"
Since I'm a SAHM,
I especially love Fridays
because I don't have to be up early on Saturdays.
Ashlyn is having a sleep-over tonight
& we're going out to dinner w/friends Sat night.
It's going to be a good weekend,
despite the rain & cold we're supposed to get.

I haven't done much scrapping the latter part of this week.
I've been too tired & my mojo went south.
Having said that,
Below is my take on the Color Inspiration #43

This is actually my 2nd card
because I don't like my first one
& will have to make some changes.
I used SEI's Oasis line of papers,
& they really are some gorgeous papers.
It might be hard to see,
but there are some blue stripes
& blue mixed in where the sentiment sits.
I also moved the word "with,"
as I didn't like where I placed it:)

I'm off to play with some new stamps now.
Stamping is definitely not my forte,
but it's something I need to work at it.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

more 2 Sketches 4 U projects

*WARNING ~ PICTURE HEAVY*
As promised,
here is my final project using product from
Creative Cuts and More & the current sketch.
They were more than generous &
I hope you will go visit & see what all they offer.
For this card, I used the Clear Acetate A2 fold card.
Now, I covered the entire card,
so you can't tell it started out clear, but it did.
My intention is to use this as an envie type card.
You will see the band w/flower, ribbon & stick pin
easily slides off & I want to add the words "For You"
on the flower, but haven't found exactly how yet.
I also used a velcro closure,
which I really didn't need, as it has the band.
Laura Craigie (2Sketches Spring DT)
used some Basic Grey magnets.
Either works just great

And that's all for today.
It's a GORGEOUS day today
& I hope you have a very blessed Wednesday.

Card Patterns #2 & #3

Happy Tuesday!!
Anyone attending any Fat Tuesday parades?
Not me..............I'm not a parade type person,
but the weather is perfect for a parade:)
Today I have 2 cards to show,
using sketches from Card Patterns.
This first card uses the Card Patterns #2 sketch.
As if you haven't seen enough of this Making Memories,
I went & bought some rub-ons & the stick pins.
I LOVE this line:)

This card uses the Card Patterns #3 sketch.
I had wanted to make a card using Moxie Fab's
grey & yellow combo, so I finally got around to it!!

That's all I have for today.
I'll be back later this week
with another project for 2Sketches.
Until then, have a blessed day!!

2Sketches 4 U - Lulu's Bonus Sketch

Have you gotten a chance to visit 2Sketches 4 U this week?
If not, I hope you will.
Not only does Laura have a fun sketch,
but the design team did a fabulous job
with product from Creative Cuts and More,
PLUS, Lulu has an awesome sketch. ....
did you see the card she created? WOW!!
So, I have a couple of things to show you.
First is my interpretation of Lulu's sketch.
I decided to use the same scallop card
we received from Creative Cuts and More.
Do you sometimes have a vision of something grande
& then it turns out par to below par?
Ya? That would be this card.
I loved it, until I added the birds & "straps."
The idea was similar to the birds you see
on Cinderella when they're carrying her dress to her.
and I just didn't quite "capture the image."
But I love my dress design,
with the beads on the bodice,
a small string of pearls in the middle
& a lace body.
The birds were cut using the Wedding Marriage cartridge
for the Cricut machine.

I made this next card using Laura's current sketch.
& then realized I forgot to use sponsor product*oops*
But, at least I got another card made:)

And as if that's not enough,
I still have two more cards to show.
Another using more Creative Cuts and More product
& a card using last week's Card Patterns 2 sketch.
Hope you'll come back later this week
& thanks for stopping by!!
But I'll post those later in the week.

2Sketches 4 U - Laura 20

This week we had the privilege of working with
product from Creative Cuts and More.
They generously donated some die-cut items
& allowed us to have free-rein on what we created.
If you haven't seen the rest of the design teams creations,
PLEASE go check them out.
They are absolutely gorgeous.
Here is what I made,
using a French Fry die-cut box.

You can view this project, as a tutorial, in the March issue of Scrapbook News & Review.

This was so fun & easy to make.
I will give this to Ashlyn's teacher for Easter,
and fill with some chocolate goodness, of course:)I did make another project,
using the same clear card some of the other design team ladies used.
So, I hope you will come back,
later this week & take a peek.

CPS 104

I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend.
It got chilly here this weekend,
but it's still been beautiful.
My mojo hasn't been around these past 3 days,
so everything I've attempted to do as not worked out.
Instead, I've been reading,
a pasttime I thoroughly enjoyed growing up
& have neglected since my new scrapping passion.
So, I bought & read The Reader,
which was a good book, though not what I was expecting.
I also bought Twilight.
As I stand in front of books, I have a hard time
determining what I might want to read.
I'm not a mushy romance type reader,
I prefer historical, factual type books,
but being at Target, I was limited:)
So, Twilight it is
& we'll see if I venture through the rest of the series.
Today Ashlyn's best friend is over,
William is biking & Camryn napping,
so I tackled CPS 104.
I originally pulled these colors to do something else,
but it didn't work, so I changed modes.
I do like the color scheme though
& I HAD to use some of my new yummy Primas:)

I'm almost finished w/another card.
It's supposed to be based off a Card Patterns sketch,
but once finished I'll have to see?
In the meantime, I hope the rest of your Sunday is beautiful!!

So Sketchy February Card sketch

This is my second card post
as a So Sketchy Sista card designer.
If you've not seen Allison's sketches,
I hope you will visit the site.
She does sketches for layouts
both single & double-pages, plus cards.
Coupled with the designers,
there's plenty of inspiration to be found.
Here's a card I created using a February sketch.
I coupled a mini Heather Bailey file folder
with some Making Memories Spring Fling.

If you do a project using any February sketch,
don't forget to link back to So Sketchy
to be entered in for the monthly contest.
I'm off to do some shopping.
Hope your Friday is a wonderful day!!

Color Inspiration #42

How did this hump-day find you?
Well.......................I hope.
Seems we weren't quite over the sickness.
Poor Camryn woke this morning with 102 fever
AGAIN
and she's complaining of her stomach hurting.
She was fine Sunday - Tuesday,
or so we thought?
Fortunately, she only had a 1/2 day at school today
& she's out of school the next 2 days for teacher conferences.
So, she's not missing any school
& can stay home & snuggle with me:)
The weather is yucky again
no sun, windy & a bad storm headed our way.
So, I've settled in to do some scrapping
in between taking care of biscuit-butt.
Here's my take on the Color Inspiration #42.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the colors
was Crate Paper!! I realize the colors may look a tad off,
but they match up pretty well with the challenge.
I'm really enjoying the color challenges,
& need to utilize them on layouts too.
My idea behind this card was to think of things
friends would do when they are together.
So, this K&Co playing card reminded me of that
but the card is "growing" on me.
Still not sure I like it, but it's finished.

I hope you're staying warm & well
wherever you are today.
Have a blessed day & thanks for visiting me.

2 Sketches 4 U - Julie's bonus sketch

I love the look of digital
I love the "challenge" of digital
I dislike the fact I'm computer illiterate
when it comes to figuring out photo programs.
So, I "dabble" a tad in digi
& every now & again I'll get a hankerin'
to do something digital.
When I saw this too adorable Kawaii Cute Fruit kit
from Kitschy's Digitals,
I knew I wanted to make something using these fruits.
So, Julie's bonus sketch at 2Sketches 4 U
was my perfect opportunity to put this kit to use.
Isn't it just so fun & cute?
I printed everything onto white Bazzill,
so the pink background & blue print
are both "digi patterned paper"
and the label w/strawberry is also digital.

Please look for this card in Scrapbook Trends August 2009 issue

I made another card using this kit,
because I simply couldn't resist.
You can see it here:)
If you buy this kit,
please come back & share with me your creation!!

CPS 103 Part 2 *hybrid*

I decided to do another CPS 103 card.
I didn't like my first one at all
& even after posting,
attempted to take it apart.
So tonight,
I played around with one of Kitschy's Digi kits
Kawaii Cute Fruit kit........it's ADORABLE!!
So, I present to you a hybrid card:)
I printed the lemon on Bazzill, cut
& added to my traditional scrapping stuff,
which also happened to be SCRAPS from my STASH!!

You can see this card in the March issue of Scrapbook News & Review

I like this card way more than my first:)
So, I made another card with this kit,
using Julie's bonus sketch for 2Sketches 4 U
You can check it out on this post:)
Adios amigos!!

2Sketches 4 U - Kazan 20

It's Monday - which means,
another FANTABULOUS sketch
from Laura & Kazan
over @ 2Sketches 4 U!!!
Be sure to check out the rest of the design teams work!!
I get "sneak peeks" throughout the week
& let me tell you............
I'm just as anxious as you to see their beautiful work:)
I LOVED this sketch.
The minute I saw it,
I knew I would be using this Cosmo Cricket Blackboard.
So, here's my card
using a bunch of SCRAPS from my stash.
& I might even try to do another this week:)
But I'll definitely need to do Julie's bonus sketch:)

Hope you have a blessed Monday!!

CPS 103

The rain has finally stopped,
there's a little nip in the air
& my Japanese Magnolia Blossom is trying to bloom.
Will someone please tell me what season we're in?
My girls are finally sick-free
& I can't get my nose to stop running.
I really think it's my allergies,
but with this weather it's no wonder!!
We had a delish steak/shrimp cook-out for lunch today.
On Sundays I try to have a big lunch
& then it's feast or famine for dinner:)
While everyone was napping,
I tackled the CPS 103 sketch.

Here are a few of the layouts I got done this weekend.
It seems forever ago since I've done a layout,
& I feel like I'm learning to scrap all over again.
I can't seem to find my style,
though I don't know I really ever had a noticeable one?
But regardless, here's 3 I did.
This first was done because my Deacon Blue is getting older.
He's 10 & limping badly & barely gets around anymore.
So, I had to do a layout about all the different names we call him.
And this is actually not all of them,
there's a few more, but I stopped at 4:)

This is our youngest Chihuahua (we have 3)
& she came running in the house one day
with a possum in her mouth.
I didn't realize it was a possum at first,
but once I did,
I had to wonder if it was really dead?
Or playing possum.............seriously!!

This last shows my youngest from 2-years ago.
She loves to dance for us in the living room
So, the title reads "dansu"
which is Japanese for dance.
I looked it up on-line,
then verified it with my mom.
I asked her to look at it & read the title.
When she repeated "dance,"
I knew it was right:)
She loves these pictures.

I did get 2 more finished,
but I won't bore you with them,
even though it is my blog
& I can do what I want:)
I hope you have a wonderful start to your week!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope you are doing what you love most.
Whether it's going out to eat,
watching a movie,
or staying home with family!!
Us?
William has to work,
Ashlyn has a playdate with a friend
& I'm home with this little cuddle bunny:)

She started running fever Thursday,
which has turned to vomitting in the wee hours of this morn.
I couldn't resist snapping a picture of her sweet fingers.
All dressed-up for her school Valentine party
& she ended up getting sick.
We'll be finalizing daddy's valentine cards
& hanging out at home.
I've done a couple of layouts,
but it's been raining for 2-days,
so I'll have to photograph another day.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Color Inspiration #41

How is everyone's week going?
Mine is good,
though I'm ready for a sick-free week.
Ashlyn went back to school on Tuesday,
and Camryn woke this morning with a fever.
Poor girl!!
Her class had their Valentine's Day party
& she was so excited about it.
As an early Valentine gift,
I bought the girls "petite" fake finger nails:)
Her little hand looks so sweet with them on
& she wanted to show her teachers.
Instead, she spent the morning with good ole' mom!!
In between taking care of sick baby,
I did a few design team assignments,
& made a card for Color Inspiration #41.
I loved this color combination
& opted not to do a Valentine theme.
I have too many of those cards already!!
The card does not have any "black specks" on it.
I've resorted to using a window sill for lighting
& the dirt from the window is reflecting on the card:)

Welp, off to do some 3rd grade homework.
Have a blessed day!

2 Sketches 4 U - Laura #19 sketch

Have you visited 2Sketches 4 U yet?
If not..................you should!!
They are giving away a PRIZE A DAY
this entire week!!
And who doesn't want FREE stuff?
I did make another card with Sketch #19
I saw this cut on my Graphically Speaking cartridge.
Being an avid coffee drinker,
I knew I wanted to use it.
Nothing fancy, just simple,
but I did use nothing but scraps on this card.

And, from time-to-time I've been known to do layouts too:)
Here's a simple, but fun layout I did of my girls.
These pictures are 2-years old!!!
And............NO.......I've never seen an owl in the clouds,
but it's my layout, so he's there!!

Ashlyn is still recuperating from being sick.
She hasn't run fever since 5:30 this morning,
but her energy level is very low.
We're planning on school tomorrow.
I'm helping out in the classroom,
so if she doesn't make it,
we'll head home early!!
I hope your Tuesday is wonderful!!

Eye Candy for Blog Candy

Good Monday morning everyone!!
There is LOTS going on at 2Sketches 4 U this week,
so you'll definitely want to hop on over.
First up are the Spring design team cards for Laura's #19 sketch.
The other ladies did a FABULOUS job.
They truly are talented!!!
Here is my card, in case you haven't seen it:
Isn't this the cutest fox you've ever seen:)
All of this is part of the Twitterpattered line by Imaginisce,
except the green paper...that's Scenic Route.

Now, 2Sketches is also doing a fun give-away ALL week,
All you have to do is post a picture of your eye-candy.
Eye candy?
Dawne...................what does this mean?
Here, let me show you mine:)

Now, this is MY eye-candy,
ain't he a cutie-patootie (don't tell him I said that:)
2Sketches wants to see YOUR eye-candy.
Here are the details from the site:

Big Hugs,

Whew!! That's all I have for now.
Thanks for hanging w/me so long,
& I can't wait to see your creations & eye-candy!!
Have a very blessed Monday!!

CPS 102

It's another gorgeous day here!!
After spending an entire night in the woods,
alone, for her first venture out,
Emma (our cat) has been meowing ALL day.
She wants out so badly
& who can blame her:)
Here she is sitting by an open window.
We did let her out for a few minutes,
until she made a beeline for the woods
& that's when the hunt began.
Once captured, she was brought back to captivity!!
She's really sad:(

While waiting for our grill to heat,
I decided to tackle CPS 102.
I killed 2 birds w/one stone on this card,
by using some old scraps.
Everything on this card is older scraps,
except the card base.
I couldn't part w/any of this Collage Press paper.
It was my absolute fav of theirs.
This is a challenge that Danni has emphasized
for several weeks now, using up scraps & old scraps.
I have enough "scraps" to never buy anything else AGAIN!!
Seriously!!

That's all for now,
but don't forget to check back tomorrow.
2Sketches 4 U will reveal it's latest sketch
& design team cards,
AND some other goodies you don't want to miss!!
I didn't realize this past Friday was my 2-year Blogoversary!!
Soooooooooooooooooooo.............I might do a little give-away!!
But you have to come back to see:)

So Sketchy - Feb 8th

It's a GORGEOUS weekend here in sunny FL,
and my sweet Ashlyn is sick:(
She woke with a fever & sore throat,
so I'm hoping it doesn't turn into strep.
Because she's not feeling well,
hubby took Camryn to Grammie's house!!
Which gives us both quiet time for napping & scrapping.
While Ashlyn is trying to nap,
I've been playing with the new Twitterpattered papers I picked up last night.
They are the absolute cutest
with some of my favorite color combos
& the cutest forest creatures.
For both of these cards,
I used the February 8th So Sketchy card sketch.

I'm still taking advantage of the Cricut cartridges my friend let me borrow:)
AND, the stick-pin through the buttons & flower is a brilliant idea
I got from this ever-so-talented lady, Danni.
I've also gotten 2 more pages of the Sr. album completed.
Though I'm totally excited about this,
I just realized I have about 4-5 more to do
whereas I originally thought I only had 4 to do*sigh*
I'm at least thankful I'm not taking time away from my girls!!
Hope your weekend is just as beautiful as mine!!

CPS 101 & Color Inspiration 40

Helping Ashlyn with her Valentine cards for school.
She opted to make them instead of buy them.
So, I borrowed some Cricut cartridges from a sweet friend
& she's crafting away:)
In the meantime, I did the current CPS 101 sketch.
I also incorporated Color Inspiration 40.
I've always wanted to do these color challenges,
but never took the time.
Is it ironic these colors match Making Memories Chloe's Closet?
Did I see you cringe:)

Wish I had bought more of this ribbon too!

So, not sure what we've got planned for the weekend,
but I hope yours is filled with fun.

CPS 100

A week or so ago,
I made 2 cards using the CPS 100 sketch.
They're having a contest that ends this Saturday?
Here's my 2nd card, but I'm not entering the contest
and I wish all those who are GOOD LUCK!!
Serious talent w/some beautiful cards.

Making Memories "Sabrina" line
mixed w/Petaloo & Prima flowers & bling.

Today is Friday
and it's another Blessed day!!
This morning we realized Emma (our cat) was missing.
After rushing girls to school,
hubby & I spent over an hour driving
our neighborhood & tramping through woods.
She's an inside cat
& has only ventured on our back porch a handful of times.
Seems she went out last night
before I closed the doggy door to keep out the cold.
My heart was broken to know
I was probably the reason she couldn't get back inside.
As I started writing this post,
hubby walked upstairs w/her in his arms!!
We're so happy she's back
& I'm praising the Lord for answering prayers!!
I hope your Friday & weekend is just as blessed!!

So Sketchy January 6th layout

Okay, so I've finally gotten some layouts completed.
They are simple enough,
but I like them & they're done.
For this one, I used the So Sketchy January 6th layout.

After completing the layout,
I realized the sketch was an 8.5x11 format
but I used a 12x12 format.
I easily could have done this in 8.5x11,
as you can see all the white space I have.
One thing I LOVE about this layout:
I'm using some WWWAAAAAYYYYY old product!!
Older Making Memories paper
coupled with some Deja Views chipboard letters
I HAD to have.
Little did I realize not all the letters came in the same color.
So, everytime I've tried to use them,
I couldn't complete a word in the same color.
I realize the ribbon looks crooked
but when it's laying flat, it's not.
I simply didn't use adhesive all the way across.

And that's all I have for now.
I actually got 4 layouts done.
But only photographed 2.
Hope this morning finds you feeling blessed!!

So Sketchy Feb 5 card sketch & layout

Yesterday launched the first layouts by
the new So Sketchy Sistas.
I hope you will take a moment to
visit the site & play with the sketches.
We'd love to see your interpretations!

Here is my first card using the
So Sketchy Feb 5th - card sketch.

I really loved this sketch.
I think it was the vertical strips,
& this paper by Studio Calico was perfect.
I used my Expression for the word "retirement,"
Creative Imaginations felt flowers & K&Co fabric brad.
To show the versatility of these sketches,
I also did a simple 12x12 layout.
Sorry for the bad picture,
but I can't get my lighting right*sigh*

So, if you get a chance to play,
I'd love to see your card or layout using this sketch
& then link me to your blog,
so I can check out your wonderful creations!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Thanks for visiting!!
