CPS 184

Back in the swing of things?
Probably not:)
Where have I been?
Nowhere in particular
but apparently not in my scraproom.
This is the 1st year both of my girls are in school,
past 12:00 noon.
I now don't have to pick them up until 2:00.
So, I'm finding I have TONS of time on my hands,
but instead of scrapping & exercising,
I've been reading & doing not much else?
It's been nice to adjust to a schedule of nothing,
because starting this week,
I start back with my bible study twice a week,
so I figure I'm entitled to a little break.
Browsed sketch sites today
& found the CPS 184 sketch ready.
LOVE this Hero Arts stamp set.
I've used it before, but not often enough.
The papers are the new Crate Paper Restoration.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new line!!

I'm hoping to do a little more this week.
I'm now 2 months behind on my kit club,
so I've got 2 kits untouched*yikes*
I really need to get busy.
Thanks for stopping by
& have a blessed day!!

2S4U #57 & CPS #177

Summer's almost over*yikes*
Where is it going so fast?
Only 1-month before girls start again.
We've already got school supplies
& we've done a little clothes shopping.
I'm excited to do more shopping,
what girl doesn't like to shop,
but not excited for summer to be over.
While the girls were swimming w/friends today,
I played around with two sketches.
First up is the current 2S4U - Laura 57 sketch.
I stamped the puffer fish
& then pieced him back together.
It might be hard to see,
but I adhered a Heidi Swapp
acetate heart to his front.
YES, I still have some of these goodies:)

Supplies: My Minds Eye patterned paper; Imaginisce stamp puffer fish stamp; Fiskar sentiment stamp; Heidi Swapp acetate heart; twine

For this next card,
I used the CPS 177 sketch.
I got these Prima flowers from ScrapHappy.
The blues go perfectly with this
Pink Paislee Amber Road line.

Supplies: Pink Paislee patterned paper; Prima flower; Fiskar sentiment stamp; Fiskar border punch; Kaiser Crafts pearl rhinestones

Welp, just got the call to pick up kiddos,
so off to get my girlies
& start settling in for the evening!!

CPS 176

Thursday already!!
*whew*
What a week!!
Girls have dentist appts today,
so not much playing planned.
Here's a card I finished yesterday,
using the CPS 176 sketch.
I still have remanents of
this lovely paper left,
so I trying to use it up.
I might add some bling
underneath & just above
the bottom rose?

Look for this card in the January 2011 CARDS publication

That's all for today.
I hope your week has been blessed!!

July already?

So hard to believe it's July already.
This makes me realize
we have even less summer left,
so definitely going to make the most
of the next 2-months.
I did make a card today,
in between cleaning house.
I decided to use the CPS #174 sketch.
I originally had it turned
just like the sketch,
but ended up wanting the butterfly up top.
Not sure why,
but now I feel like my paper looks wonky somehow?
Oh well,
it's glued down,
so no changing it now.

Supplies: Crate Paper & dies; Prima bling & Fiskar stamp sentiment

I also started another card,
& will hopefully finish tomorrow
& get it uploaded.
Hope you're having a great week!!

feeling myself again

I'm finally feeling myself again.
In fact,
I needed to start running/exercising again today,
but didn't manage too:(
Really need to get started tomorrow,
these M&Ms will be stickin' pretty soon!!
We have a break from summer activities
for about 3 more weeks,
so I'm really hoping to get more scrapping done.
Here are 2 cards I worked on this weekend.
The first uses Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #74,
but I didn't get it done in time.

Supplies: My Minds Eye papers; Cosmo Cricket chipboard; Cuttlebug embossing folder; Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers; Fiskar border punch

This card uses the current CPS sketch #172.
For some reason,
the minute I saw the sketch,
I thought of this K&Co line.
I did hand-cut the flowers on the card,
but the bottom ones are part of a border sticker.

Supplies: K&Co papers & sticker embellies; Fiskar "friend" stamp; American Crafts Thickers

I'm so proud of my 10-year old.
She has a 1-yr old cat
& really wanted a 6-wk old kitten.
As a family,
we sat down to talk about the pros & cons.
Afterwards,
we let her decide what she thought
was the right decision to make.
She opted NOT to get the kitten.
Whew!!!
What a relief for mommy,
but I'm really very proud of her.
For a 10-year old that's huge.
They usually only think of themselves
& what they want.
I know she really wanted this kitten
& she even cried,
but she's fine now!!
So..............
maybe I can talk daddy into a puppy:)

*it's official*

I run!!!
That might not seem like a big deal,
but to me it is.
I always professed to NOT be a runner.
Not because I couldn't do it,
but simply because I figured.....
"Why?"
I've been walking for awhile
& one day decided to "jog" a little.
It didn't take long to realize,
I was getting done quicker:)
I suffered shin splints due to
not having good running shoes.
So yesterday while shopping for Father's Day,
I purchased me a good pair of running shoes.
Took my first run in them last night
& boy howdy....................
the shoes definitely make the run!!!
I actually enjoyed myself,
& think I'll make a habit of this thing called "running!!"

The girls are at church this week,
participating in a summer recreation thingy.
So, today I decided to
get a couple of Father's Day cards done.
Only 1 more to go.
For the first card,
I used the 2S4U-Laura #54 sketch.
Still playing around with
My Minds Eye "So Sophie" from ScrapHappy.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers & die-cut tags; Offray rhinestones & twine

For this card I used CPS 171.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers; Heidi Swapp acetate hearts; Chatterbox letter stickers & Offray rhinestones

These layouts were made using
more My Minds Eye "So Sophie."
I really enjoyed this line
more than I thought I would.
Full of blues, greens & browns
& versatile enough for girls.

And that's all for now.
Gotta get some food started.
Girls should be home soon
& I know they'll be starving!!

CPS 170

Can ya tell I'm lovin' summer?
I got these MME papers in a CARDS box.
I really, really like them.
For this card I used the current CPS 170 sketch.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Breaking Free" papers & die-cuts; Creative Memories trim; Sassafras ice-cream felt; Fiskar border punch

I've been working on design team projects.
I got to work with several lines
of My Minds Eye newer stuff, "So Sophie."
I have to admit,
after all these years,
My Minds Eye continues to be one of my favs.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.
I know I do!!

CPS 165

I always find it hard to believe
Mondays come around so quickly.
And once again,
here we are with Monday again!!
Here's a card I made
using CPS 165.
I'm showing 2 versions,
because of one minor detail in each.
I can't decide which I like better?
Any suggestions?

I have no one to give this to,
but I wanted to use some of
these Cosmo Cricket chipboard pieces.
We've got a busy month ahead of us.
Birthdays, Mother's Day, kindergarten graduation,
SanDestin trip & possibly a Disney trip:)
Totally excited about this month,
though I'm sad time is going by so quickly!!
Hope your Monday is blessed
& thanks for stopping by!!

CPS 163

So I did make a few more cards yesterday.
The first one uses the current CPS 163 sketch.
I pulled out some older Basic Grey
& ended up using a Prima package.
I just loved the green & decorative edge.

Supplies: Bazzill; Basic Grey paper; Prima flower & packaging; Pink Paislee letter stickers; K&Co pearl rhinestones
These next 2 layouts I did last week.
I love how they turned out.
The birdhouses were hand-cut
from a sheet of Jillibean paper.
LOVE this paper.

Supplies: Studio Calico (background); 7Gypsies (text); Crate Paper (blue & yellow) & Jillibean (bird houses) papers; Jenni Bowlin butterfly; American Crafts (comfy) & Basic Grey (home) letter stickers
Supplies: Sassafrass (background) & Basic Grey (black ledger) papers; My Minds Eye "token" ticket; Jillibean corrugated & yellow alphabet letters

I was also able to get another card made,
using the 2S4U bonus sketch.
I'll post that later this week.
I'm really hoping to get more scrapping done.
I feel like I haven't scrapped in weeks
& it really feels good to get something accomplished.

CPS 160 & Scrap Happy

The weather has been GORGEOUS
for our Spring Break.
I've been enjoying scrap time, suntime,
family time, shopping & friends!!
Here's another card I
made using the CPS 160 sketch.

Supplies:
My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue" paper
Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love" chipboard pieces
Fiskar border punch
Twine & DMC floss

I still have quite a bit of paper & embellies
left from the Mary Mary & Little Boy Blue,
so I'm hoping to get more done this week!!
We've decided to have an untraditional
Easter celebration this year.
We're going to do a fish fry & include
all other forms of seafood fried, grilled & eaten!!
I hope your Easter is blessed!!
Praise God that Jesus has risen!!
Thanks for stopping by &
I hope the weather is good in your neck of the woods!!

CPS 153

So, last night I made a card.
I used the current CPS 153 sketch.
I like the card,
but I don't feel it's my normal style.
I don't think I have a normal style,
but this card looks like one
I might see someone else creating,
just not me?
Anyway, I did turn the sketch
& then I became stumped.
You'll see I did the card 2 ways.
I originally used the tiny Basic Grey letters
& thought it blended way too much.
So, I removed them & used a rub-on.
Now that I'm seing the card a day later,
I think I like the yellow letters better?
I also think I should have
put the rub-on on white cardstock,
cut & raise using pop-dots.
But, it is what it is.

And today,
I might or might not
have spent $40.00 on bead supplies!!

CPS 153 - Congratulations

Hehehehehehe
our snow day didn't turn out so well!!
At least not in my area.
There are parts of the south
that got 2-5 inches of snow.
Areas that typically get NO snow,
so it was worth it for some people,
just not for us:(
So, I stayed indoors,
& attempted to scrap.
I did get a couple of layouts completed,
but will have to wait for more sunshine.
Here's a card I made using the CPS 153 sketch.
Did you see how many entries they've had this week?
OVER 300!!!
I'll probably be one of the few,
if only,
non-stamping cards submitted!!
You've been seeing these flowers
on some of my other projects,
& here's a link to a great tutorial
by Lollychops from January.
I did use some scallops scissors
to cut my circle.

I really was hoping to get more done today
& I guess I could stay up late to scrap?
But I probably won't.
Ashlyn went to work with daddy today
& I've missed her quite a bit,
so I'm anxious for her to get home!!
Hope you have a great weekend,
snow or not:)

CPS 151 *part 2*

WOW!!
I must really love the CPS 151 sketch.
As I was putting these MM rub-ons away,
I saw the hearts at the bottom
& whipped up another card.

Okay, now I'll tuck them away
& get back to work on my Basic Grey Origins!!

CPS 151

It's been awhile since I've
been able to work off a current sketch.
But tonight the CPS 151 sketch called me.
I used the Basic Grey packaging
for my squares across the front.
Definitely a 5-min card!!

I also managed to do
a couple of layouts,
but won't be uploading them now.
Hope your weekend was productive & fun?
I know mine was!!

Friday, January 22, 2010

as promised

I finally got some cards made.
Since I haven't been scrapping much,
I've gotten new product
that is sitting around not getting used.
This first card is some of that product.
I received this MME
in one of my CARDS goodie boxes.
LOVE the entire line
& went to work on this first card
& realized it's NOT a bday card:)
The butterflies are rub-ons
that I hand-cut & then stacked.

This card will go to my sis
who is turning 35 on Feb 1st.
I talked w/her yesterday
& she's having major issues with this age?
The red is more of the MME,
but the rest is Cosmo Cricut's Girl Friday.

This will go to my neice,
who is turning 8 January 30th.
I based this card off CPS 149 sketch,
which is from a couple of weeks ago.
I have been wanting to use this bug
for so long & finally dug it back out.

I'm hoping to scrap more today.
I thought my mil was getting the girls,
but seems she's been sick.
I still think I can squeeze some scrapping in tonight.
The weather is beautiful in my parts,
so I'm thinking lots of outdoor activities today!!
Hope you have a blessed weekend!!

CPS 141

Oh wonderful Wednesday,
1/2 way to the weekend
& we just had a 5-day weekend:)
I'm so giddy that Friday
is only 2-days away!!
I so love having my girlies home with me!
So, last night I had the entire night to scrap,
IF I wanted.
And,
I wanted.
BUT,
the juices weren't flowing*sigh*
My first card uses CPS 141
and I actually did it yesterday afternoon.
I have these K&Co Christmas sentiments.
An entire pack to be exact,
that matches the new CC line exactly:)
So, I used it for this card.

This last card is the fruit
of all my labor last night.
Pretty lame, hu?

So, I'm off to work on 4th grade social studies.
We're studying the state of Florida.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,
I wonder why?

CPS 138 & a birthday!!

Happy happy Friday!!
We are getting ready for a birthday party!!
My baby will be 5 next Thursday,
but we're having her party tomorrow.
There will be a bounce house, games,
pizza & cake!!
She is sooooooooooooooooo excited
& I LOVE IT!!
I'm getting ready to make
my traditional birthday layout.
Each birthday I make a layout
with 2 pictures of the birthday girl.
One picture showing her on the previous birthday;
and one current picture.
Then I let all the birthday guests sign the page.
Now that Ashlyn is older,
she enjoys reading what everyone writes her.
While prepping my mojo for a layout,
I tackled CPS 138 sketch.

Tomorrow Card Patterns will be posting
my Guest Designer card!!
I hope you'll stop by to visit.
I enjoyed the sketch
& the card I made!!
Gotta get busy on a layout
& then
we're making a Hannah Montana cake!!

CPS 137

Happy blessed Sunday to everyone!!
It's a gorgeous day in our neck of the woods
& yet I know in Kansas,
the temps are in the 40's *yikes*
It's also my father's "real" birthday...
"Happy Birthday Ogi!!"
The dinner went great
& he loved the card I made,
as seen here.
Only prob?
He turned 61, NOT 60 *oops*
See, he's technically my stepfather,
& from year-to-year
I rely on my older sister to tell me his age:)
So, she told me it was his 60th
& I believed her:) Silly me!!
Anyway,
I've had a chance to scrap some more this morning.
I used the current CPS #137
& these great Studio G $1.00 stamps.
I got them to use with this Cosmo Cricket
& finally pulled them out for this sketch.
Ashlyn thought the bottom of the grill was an alien,
which it could be used for, so I'll probably try it,
but it also looks like a red Pac-man too!!

Not sure what else we'll do today.
Girls have been motorcycle & gator riding.
The weather is so nice,
I think I'll get myself out there too!!

Sunday, October 4, 2009

CPS 136

It's raining here today
which is perfect scrappin' weather.
The girls went to the circus
& William is tired from his race yesterday.
So, I'm gonna scrap.
For this card,
I used the current CPS 136
& some Basic Grey June Bug.
This is probably my least fav line by them,
but I'm determined to use it.

I'm hoping to get a little more scrappin' done,
so I'm gone!!

Friday, October 2, 2009

it's the weekend

After working, part-time,
for about 2 1/2 weeks,
I've gained a better appreciation
for the weekend!!!
I was really looking forward to Saturday.
It's World Cardmaking Day
& I was hoping to spend the entire day
scrapping to my hearts content.
But, it doesn't look like that's going to happen,
so, I'll just squeeze in whatever I can get:)
The other day I did get to play with CPS #135.
The sketch was fairly simple
& I didn't try to change it up.
Using some CC Boyfriend
& keepin' it simple!!

Look for this card in the March 2010 issue of CARDS

I'm really, really tired,
& I need to get the girls picked up.
We might even go out to eat?
Then, since William is out of town,
I was going to scrap late into the evening/morning,
but I don't think my sleepy eyes will last?
Whatever your plans this weekend....
I hope they are wonderfully blessed!!

Thanks for visiting!!
