CPS 176

Thursday already!!
*whew*
What a week!!
Girls have dentist appts today,
so not much playing planned.
Here's a card I finished yesterday,
using the CPS 176 sketch.
I still have remanents of
this lovely paper left,
so I trying to use it up.
I might add some bling
underneath & just above
the bottom rose?

Look for this card in the January 2011 CARDS publication

That's all for today.
I hope your week has been blessed!!

feeling myself again

I'm finally feeling myself again.
In fact,
I needed to start running/exercising again today,
but didn't manage too:(
Really need to get started tomorrow,
these M&Ms will be stickin' pretty soon!!
We have a break from summer activities
for about 3 more weeks,
so I'm really hoping to get more scrapping done.
Here are 2 cards I worked on this weekend.
The first uses Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #74,
but I didn't get it done in time.

Supplies: My Minds Eye papers; Cosmo Cricket chipboard; Cuttlebug embossing folder; Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers; Fiskar border punch

This card uses the current CPS sketch #172.
For some reason,
the minute I saw the sketch,
I thought of this K&Co line.
I did hand-cut the flowers on the card,
but the bottom ones are part of a border sticker.

Supplies: K&Co papers & sticker embellies; Fiskar "friend" stamp; American Crafts Thickers

I'm so proud of my 10-year old.
She has a 1-yr old cat
& really wanted a 6-wk old kitten.
As a family,
we sat down to talk about the pros & cons.
Afterwards,
we let her decide what she thought
was the right decision to make.
She opted NOT to get the kitten.
Whew!!!
What a relief for mommy,
but I'm really very proud of her.
For a 10-year old that's huge.
They usually only think of themselves
& what they want.
I know she really wanted this kitten
& she even cried,
but she's fine now!!
So..............
maybe I can talk daddy into a puppy:)

me & stamping don't agree

I'm trying.
Believe me.
But we're not getting along:)
The card below HAD a stamped image.
I even paper-pieced it together.
But, I sorta did it backwards,
so, the image didn't make the card.
The sentiment is stamped though...
if that counts as stamping.
Using more My Minds Eye
So Sophie, Quite Contrary & Cosmo Cricket.
I'm finally getting over being sick.
I NEVER get sick.
I think the last time I was sick,
was 5+ years ago?
We're talking fever, chills, aches
vomitting & loads of sleeping.
2-days later & 3 lbs less,
I'm finally starting to feel myself again.
We even got William
brand new Asics for Father's Day
& we haven't been able to try them out.
So, maybe the rest of this week
will be more productive than today & yesterday?
I'm hopeful!!

it's all about *DAD*

I needed one more Father's Day card.
So, mixing My Minds Eye (So Sophie, Quite Contrary)
& Cosmo Cricket chipboard, I decided to use the
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #73.
The My Minds Eye journaling tag
has flowers, so I downplayed them
with buttons, twine & the plaid print.

Now that I have my Father's Day cards finished,
I'm gonna play with some new stamps I got.
I recently made my first purchase with Taylored Expressions.
She was offering the cutest stamp set, Pet's Place,
mixed with Basic Grey's "Max & Whiskers."
Those of you that know me,
know we own a pet store.
Until I saw this set,
I'd never found one that incorporated
animal sentiments along w/images.
So, I HAD to get this set.
I've had it over a week now,
so I'm very anxious to work with it.
Wish me luck...........
I'm not a very good stamper:)

*it's official*

I run!!!
That might not seem like a big deal,
but to me it is.
I always professed to NOT be a runner.
Not because I couldn't do it,
but simply because I figured.....
"Why?"
I've been walking for awhile
& one day decided to "jog" a little.
It didn't take long to realize,
I was getting done quicker:)
I suffered shin splints due to
not having good running shoes.
So yesterday while shopping for Father's Day,
I purchased me a good pair of running shoes.
Took my first run in them last night
& boy howdy....................
the shoes definitely make the run!!!
I actually enjoyed myself,
& think I'll make a habit of this thing called "running!!"

The girls are at church this week,
participating in a summer recreation thingy.
So, today I decided to
get a couple of Father's Day cards done.
Only 1 more to go.
For the first card,
I used the 2S4U-Laura #54 sketch.
Still playing around with
My Minds Eye "So Sophie" from ScrapHappy.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers & die-cut tags; Offray rhinestones & twine

For this card I used CPS 171.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers; Heidi Swapp acetate hearts; Chatterbox letter stickers & Offray rhinestones

These layouts were made using
more My Minds Eye "So Sophie."
I really enjoyed this line
more than I thought I would.
Full of blues, greens & browns
& versatile enough for girls.

And that's all for now.
Gotta get some food started.
Girls should be home soon
& I know they'll be starving!!

Taylored Expressions Sketch #117

Here's a card using some
of My Minds Eye "So Sophie."
It instantly reminded me of Christmas
& matches Cosmo Cricket's last Christmas line
& some of My Minds Eye Quite Contrary.
So this line is extremely versatile.
I used the current
Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #117

Supplies: My Minds Eye "So Sophie" papers; Cosmo Cricket chipboard

Even though I immediately thought Christmas,
this line can be used for everyday.
Something about these colors makes me happy!!
Here's a few layouts I made for ScrapHappy.

I have a few more projects,
but I'll wait til later this weekend.
Hoping to get more accomplished!!
Enjoy your weekend!!

Happy National Scrapbook Day & 2S4U

Are you scrappin' today?
I'm trying:)
It's so gloomy over here.
The rain has stopped
& the sun was supposed to be out by noon,
but I think someone forgot to tell him:)
So, the girls are with the in-laws
& I'm trying to scrap,
but I keep getting sidetracked!!

I might have several posts today.
So, if you have time in between scrapping,
I hope you'll come back to visit.
First up are a few projects I made
for Scrap Happy,
who is hosting their 2nd annual NSD crop.
I can't remember who makes the background paper,
but I paired with My Minds Eye papers & stickers
& a few sticker accents from Jillibean Soup.

For this gift set,
I used a Cosmo Cricket black box.
The idea is to fill with candy
& then they can put the lid on the underside
& use to store pens, pencils & scissors?
For the card,
I used Kazan's #51 sketch at 2S4U.

Off to get some lunch,
get a few more projects completed
& maybe one more post today!!
Happy Scrappin'!!!

TESC #110

It's rainy & stormy today,
which makes for perfect scrapping & napping weather:)
Yep................
I'm gettin' ready to take a nap with the girlies.
LOVE weather like this.
So, after I uploaded my card for the TESC #109,
I realized I was a week behind.
They had already uploaded the TESC #110 sketch.
So, I pulled out my new Pink Paislee "Queen Bee."
I've had it for awhile,
but couldn't bring myself to cut it up.
AND,
check it out.....
I stamped the crown & word "queen."
Yippee!!

Supplies: Pink Paislee Queen Bee papers, cork accents, die-cut label & stamps; Staz-on Black ink; Fiskar border punch; twine

I also made a few layouts
using some more My Minds Eye
from Scrap Happy.
I even made a boy layout:)

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Jack & Jill" paper; sticker quote; Lush red letters; Fiskar border punch

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers; Lush red letters & brads; Fiskar border punches; October Afternoon alphabet letters

Okay, I hear my pillow calling:)
Gotta go nap!!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 109

I've been finding some awesome new sketch sites.
They're not technically new,
but they're new to me.
I think this is another stamping challenge site,
and once again,
my card has no stamping!!
This card uses a sketch from
Taylored Expressions or TESC 109.
I really, really loved this sketch.
Using more My Minds Eye
from Scrap Happy.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers & die-cut sticker; butterfly punch & DMC floss

I'm getting excited about the end of school.
I already know there's only 6-weeks left,
BUT,
Ashlyn will miss the last week,
so she technically only have 5-weeks!!
I have a 5-year old graduating from kindergarten.
And a 10-year birthday party to plan.
Time is flying by too fast.
I hope you have fun plans for the weekend.
It's supposed to rain Saturday,
so maybe I'll get some scrapping time?

a bad aunt

My nephew's 3rd bday is the end of April.
My niece, his sister, her bday was the end of March.
So, I sat down today to make 2 bday cards.
Yes, 2 cards because I didn't mail Maddi's gift or card yet.
I'm a bad aunt.
That is totally not like me either.
I'm the one in the family that has cards & gifts
mailed out 2-weeks prior to bdays.
Not this year*sigh*
While visiting the talented Lea Lawson's blog,
I came across Sweet Sunday Sketch challenges.
So, I used this sketch to make Nate's card.
I got the impression this sketch site
mainly has stampers participating.
I originally had the happy bday stamped,
but I didn't like the look, so I changed it.
So, I'm hoping it's okay this isn't a stamped card:)
I also used My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue"
that I got from Scrap Happy.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue" paper & label sticker; Prima (brown) & Jillibean Soup (corrugated) alphabet letters & numbers; twine

I still have to make a belated card for Maddi,
so there's a good chance I'll use this sketch again.
I really like it!!!
Welp, off to be productive
before picking up kiddos to take swimming!!!
Thanks for stopping by & have a blessed day!!

I'm trying to wrap up my projects
for Scrap Happy, using My Minds Eye

I still have product to work with
so I'm gonna try & use it up.
Did you know Little Boy Blue goes really well
with Cosmo Cricket Earth Love
& Basic Grey's Origins?

I adore her style!

Basic Grey Lace paper & fabric brad
Sassafras(yellow) & October Afternoon (blue)alphabet stickers

CPS 160 & Scrap Happy

The weather has been GORGEOUS
for our Spring Break.
I've been enjoying scrap time, suntime,
family time, shopping & friends!!
Here's another card I
made using the CPS 160 sketch.

Supplies:
My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue" paper
Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love" chipboard pieces
Fiskar border punch
Twine & DMC floss

I still have quite a bit of paper & embellies
left from the Mary Mary & Little Boy Blue,
so I'm hoping to get more done this week!!
We've decided to have an untraditional
Easter celebration this year.
We're going to do a fish fry & include
all other forms of seafood fried, grilled & eaten!!
I hope your Easter is blessed!!
Praise God that Jesus has risen!!
Thanks for stopping by &
I hope the weather is good in your neck of the woods!!

2S4U - Kazan #49

Happy Monday to you!!
It's been a beautifully blessed day for me.
I've been scrapping, enjoying the
gorgeous weather & Spring Break.
I'm still working on projects for Scrap Happy
using My Minds Eye Lush, Little Boy Blue
& the Mary Mary lines.
I'm also mixing Cosmo Cricket Earth Love
with the Little Boy Blue.....
they go really well together.
For this card, I used the current 2S4U - Kazan 49 sketch.
I used My Minds Eye Lush Brown for the background;
My Minds Eye Little Boy Blue cardstock journaling sticker
& Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper (orange)
& chipboard pieces.

I do have more projects,
but will probably upload them tomorrow.
Off to get my work-out done,
it's beach weather around here!!

Card Patterns #57 & Scrap Happy projects

Happy weekend everyone!!
Been working on more
projects for Scrap Happy.
Here are a few more using
My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers
mixed with Making Memories Lush.
For the card, I used
the current Card Patterns #57 sketch.
This is a quick altered acrylic frame.
I love these pics of the girls
& wanted a little something
to display them in for the house.
I showed a side profile,
in case you're wondering
what type of frame it is.

I've also been working with
the My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue" papers.
I'll show those projects Sunday or Monday?
Have a blessed Sunday!!

recouping

We're back from our Tennessee trip.
What a blast!!!
The girls got to experience the thrill of snow.
Everything, except it falling from the sky.
These photos were taken as soon
as we pulled up to the cabin.
They both scrambled out,
& immediately started throwing
snowballs at each other!!
Notice, us Floridians are too cool to wear snow gear:)
That didn't last long..........
believe me!!

I started this layout before I left
& finished it this morning.
Though the sun is out
& I tried to use sunlight from the window,
my flash kept going off.
So the picture isn't that great.
Just using some Pink Paislee Cupid
for my lsss, Scrap Happy.

Ashlyn has some friends over today
and they're playing Band Hero.
I'm gonna try to scrap some "snow" pictures.
Scrapping snow layouts is something
I've not had the pleasure of doing yet!!

I Kid Not

For how long now have I been saying,
"I have projects to upload,"
yet you haven't seen them?
Welp, here are SOME of them.
I forgot to retake pictures,
so these are ones I finished up
last night & today.
The others will remain unseen for now.
These will all be gifts to family.
The first is my annual ornament.
I got this idea from Jenni Bowlin 4-years ago.
I make them for my tree every year
& decided to make this for someone else.
Mine's already on my tree,
& I'm too lazy to get it for a picture:)
These next projects
are an idea I got here.
I used a larger size chalkboard ($1.99)
& on this first one,
I used Asian coins,
but I didn't glue them down.
To adhere the ribbon,
I used a regular stapler.
My local scrapbook store
wanted me to make one,
but she asked me to use these clipboards
she already had in stock.
So I did & it turned out great.
To adhere the ribbon,
use a Crop-o-Dile to punch holes
through the pressed board.

I still feel like I have so much to do.
I have other gifts I'm planning on making,
but some involve home-made cookies,
which won't get made until this week!!
And,
I haven't done any Christmas shopping
*sigh*

Christmas project

So I did get a chance to scrap today.
After cleaning my desk,
I spent the day completing this project.
Sadly,
I had the box almost completed,
so I didn't have much to do.
I'm having the hardest time
motivating myself this year.
Anyway, I purchased some great templates
from The Cutting Cafe.
This box was one.
LOVE their templates.
It comes with an envelope & card template
but I didn't use them.

I completed this layout
a couple weeks ago?
I did some others,
but the pics didn't turn out good.
This pic was taken
on Camryn's 5th birthday!!
She's using this grin for ALL her pics.
Not sure where she got it from?

The girls are going to the
movies with my mil tomorrow.
I'm hoping to exercise,
clean carpet & scrap more.
Not even ready to break out
Christmas decorations yet!!

it's the weekend

After working, part-time,
for about 2 1/2 weeks,
I've gained a better appreciation
for the weekend!!!
I was really looking forward to Saturday.
It's World Cardmaking Day
& I was hoping to spend the entire day
scrapping to my hearts content.
But, it doesn't look like that's going to happen,
so, I'll just squeeze in whatever I can get:)
The other day I did get to play with CPS #135.
The sketch was fairly simple
& I didn't try to change it up.
Using some CC Boyfriend
& keepin' it simple!!

Look for this card in the March 2010 issue of CARDS

I'm really, really tired,
& I need to get the girls picked up.
We might even go out to eat?
Then, since William is out of town,
I was going to scrap late into the evening/morning,
but I don't think my sleepy eyes will last?
Whatever your plans this weekend....
I hope they are wonderfully blessed!!

less than stellar

It doesn't take much time away for me.
After not being able to scrap
for almost 3-4 weeks,
I realize my work has been less than stellar.
Yes I realize we're our own worst critique,
but come on.......................
I know when my work is suckish:)
So, after posting my card yesterday,
I realized I have GOT to get back
into the swing of things.
So, today I made the time to work
with Card Patterns #34.
I wasn't originally planning on using these papers,
but glad I did.
Love the end result.

Then,
because I know my card from yesterday
was pretty bad,
I made another using the 2S4U - Kazan 36 sketch.
I feel muchos better about this one.
Using some of my fav CC papers & Maya Road.

Hoping maybe this has got me back in the groove?
I would really LOVE to be able to scrap more this weekend.
Have any plans for WCMD?

Thanks for visiting!!
