Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenges

This is a very pleasant surprise:)
I'm not one to usually toot my own horn,
but this really made my day!!
If you haven't visited Taylored Expressions,
not only are the sketches versatile & fun,
there is sooooo much talent to be seen.
If you are an avid stamper,
I would definitely run to this site for inspiration.

I have projects that need to be made,
so I'm hoping to have more work to show
the latter part of the week.
I hope your week has been blessed so far!!

TESC #110

It's rainy & stormy today,
which makes for perfect scrapping & napping weather:)
Yep................
I'm gettin' ready to take a nap with the girlies.
LOVE weather like this.
So, after I uploaded my card for the TESC #109,
I realized I was a week behind.
They had already uploaded the TESC #110 sketch.
So, I pulled out my new Pink Paislee "Queen Bee."
I've had it for awhile,
but couldn't bring myself to cut it up.
AND,
check it out.....
I stamped the crown & word "queen."
Yippee!!

Supplies: Pink Paislee Queen Bee papers, cork accents, die-cut label & stamps; Staz-on Black ink; Fiskar border punch; twine

I also made a few layouts
using some more My Minds Eye
from Scrap Happy.
I even made a boy layout:)

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Jack & Jill" paper; sticker quote; Lush red letters; Fiskar border punch

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers; Lush red letters & brads; Fiskar border punches; October Afternoon alphabet letters

Okay, I hear my pillow calling:)
Gotta go nap!!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 109

I've been finding some awesome new sketch sites.
They're not technically new,
but they're new to me.
I think this is another stamping challenge site,
and once again,
my card has no stamping!!
This card uses a sketch from
Taylored Expressions or TESC 109.
I really, really loved this sketch.
Using more My Minds Eye
from Scrap Happy.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers & die-cut sticker; butterfly punch & DMC floss

I'm getting excited about the end of school.
I already know there's only 6-weeks left,
BUT,
Ashlyn will miss the last week,
so she technically only have 5-weeks!!
I have a 5-year old graduating from kindergarten.
And a 10-year birthday party to plan.
Time is flying by too fast.
I hope you have fun plans for the weekend.
It's supposed to rain Saturday,
so maybe I'll get some scrapping time?

Sweet Sunday Sketch #65

So, I finally got my niece's card made.
I realize it's probably very hard
to see the Sweet Sunday sketch in this card,
but it was definitely my springboard.
I had to put "belated,"
as it's my brother's daughter.
He still gives me a hard time for
forgetting to call on her 1st bday,
even though her card & gift arrived early!!
Brothers can be like that sometimes.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Mary Mary" papers, sticker quote & ticket stub; Lil Davis epoxy letters; Kaiser Crafts pearl rhinestone; JoAnn's trim

So, off to work on a layout or two.
Who knows................
maybe I'll get real crafty tonight
& get a lot accomplished?

a bad aunt

My nephew's 3rd bday is the end of April.
My niece, his sister, her bday was the end of March.
So, I sat down today to make 2 bday cards.
Yes, 2 cards because I didn't mail Maddi's gift or card yet.
I'm a bad aunt.
That is totally not like me either.
I'm the one in the family that has cards & gifts
mailed out 2-weeks prior to bdays.
Not this year*sigh*
While visiting the talented Lea Lawson's blog,
I came across Sweet Sunday Sketch challenges.
So, I used this sketch to make Nate's card.
I got the impression this sketch site
mainly has stampers participating.
I originally had the happy bday stamped,
but I didn't like the look, so I changed it.
So, I'm hoping it's okay this isn't a stamped card:)
I also used My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue"
that I got from Scrap Happy.

Supplies: My Minds Eye "Little Boy Blue" paper & label sticker; Prima (brown) & Jillibean Soup (corrugated) alphabet letters & numbers; twine

I still have to make a belated card for Maddi,
so there's a good chance I'll use this sketch again.
I really like it!!!
Welp, off to be productive
before picking up kiddos to take swimming!!!
Thanks for stopping by & have a blessed day!!

2S4U - bonus sketch

So my 30-days of no sugar/sweets ended Monday.
Today was the BIG day.
Now, the only things I didn't eat were
sweet related items such as:
cookies, cakes, pies, candy, sodas, desserts of any kind, etc.
When Ashlyn won the speech contest for her class,
she received a $5.00 GC to Marble Slab.
She was kind enough to wait til today,
so we made a little visit.
We get there only to find out
their giftcard machine is broken,
and we weren't allowed to use the giftcard!!
But we got ice-cream anyway!!
No bells, whistles or streamers.
In fact, I found I really didn't miss it much.
I'm hoping I can keep this habit up,
as I know it's much healthier for me.

Anyway, here's the card I made
using the 2S4U bonus sketch by Heather Pulvirenti.

Supplies: 7Gypsies text paper & Jillibean Soup birdhouse paper; Sassafras alphabet letters; twine

Today I was hoping to get more scrapping done.
I didn't even exercise!!
I'm feeling rather sleepy & lazy,
so, maybe tomorrow.
I already have pictures printed & waiting!!
Hope your day is blessed!!

CPS 163

So I did make a few more cards yesterday.
The first one uses the current CPS 163 sketch.
I pulled out some older Basic Grey
& ended up using a Prima package.
I just loved the green & decorative edge.

Supplies: Bazzill; Basic Grey paper; Prima flower & packaging; Pink Paislee letter stickers; K&Co pearl rhinestones
These next 2 layouts I did last week.
I love how they turned out.
The birdhouses were hand-cut
from a sheet of Jillibean paper.
LOVE this paper.

Supplies: Studio Calico (background); 7Gypsies (text); Crate Paper (blue & yellow) & Jillibean (bird houses) papers; Jenni Bowlin butterfly; American Crafts (comfy) & Basic Grey (home) letter stickers
Supplies: Sassafrass (background) & Basic Grey (black ledger) papers; My Minds Eye "token" ticket; Jillibean corrugated & yellow alphabet letters

I was also able to get another card made,
using the 2S4U bonus sketch.
I'll post that later this week.
I'm really hoping to get more scrapping done.
I feel like I haven't scrapped in weeks
& it really feels good to get something accomplished.

2S4U - Laura's #50 sketch

Happy Monday to you!!
Sorta overcast with peeps of sun,
so I consider that a beautiful day:)
Been trying to find pockets of time to scrap.
This time of year gets kinda hectic
& I'm usually really tired by 9:00!!
So this morning I tackled the current
2 Sketches 4 U - Laura #50 sketch.

Supplies: Crate Paper & chipboard; twine; rhinestones

These next 2 bookmarks have a story.
While in Barnes & Nobles last Sunday,
Ashlyn found a cute kitty bookmark
that she HAD to have,
until I saw the price....................$4.00!!!!!!!
What?
$4.00 for a bookmark?
Dad promptly told her "no"
& then told her mommy would make
a much nicer one for free:)
Gotta love 'em.
So, I used pictures of Macy
from when she was a kitten
& Ashlyn ended up wanting
me to make 2 of them.
So, here they are & she loves them.
I also have 2 layouts
I completed over the weekend.
I'm hoping to make more cards today,
so if I do, I'll upload the layouts then.

In other news,
Ashlyn was chosen out of her class of 17
to compete in her school-wide,
4th-grade speech contest.
I'm proud to say she came in 3rd place!!
We are so proud of her,
NOT because of her placement,
but because she got up in front of ALL
the 4th & 5th grade classes, teachers & parents
& gave her speech!!!
She also brought home straight A's this 9-weeks.
Sooooooooooo........
I'll be doing a layout about her latest "pet." hehehehe

I'm also anxious for tomorrow!!
For whatever reason,
I wanted to give up sugar/sweets for 30-days.
I wanted to see if I could tough it out,
because believe me...........it's been TOUGH!!
Today is officially the last of my 30-days
& we've already made plans for a Marble Slab visit!!
I can NOT wait, but I'm more anxious to hit Starbucks!!!!

Welp, thanks for reading all this mess.
Hope your Monday is full of blessings
& thanks for stopping by!!
