It's Monday..........Let's Dance!!

Is it Monday already?
Is it Monday again?
WOW!!
Where has my week & weekend gone?

I can't believe an entire week is gone
& I only posted once last week?
Not that anyone was anxiously awaiting,
but it's strange for me, nonetheless.
I also can't believe my 3-month term
is over with 2S4U & this is my last card!!!
THANK YOU Laura & Kazan for this wonderful opportunity.
If you haven't considered trying for their summer design team,
I hope you will.
There is soooooooooooo much talent out there,
I'm just thankful I'm not the one having to choose!!
GOOD LUCK to everyone that tries out!!

So, let's start this Monday with a wonderful
new sketch for 2S4U & our very own Kazan,
plus a wonderful sponsor, Norsk Stempelblad AS Stempler.
Here's the stamp set I received.
I haven't seen the rest of the team's cards yet,
but I'm pretty sure we each used different images.
So, I hope you can tell which one I used & what it actually is?
If you guessed a girl, with her hair in a ponytail, dancing........
then you guessed correctly:)
I used my some more of my fav AC papers
& I did put glitter all over the stars.

Then, even though I haven't been in my scraproom,
nor on my computer most of last week,
here's a card I did the week before.
I found it underneath stuff I need to put away.
I remember doing it,
just to put something together.

This time of year gets real busy for me.
I'll be teaching some classes at my lss for NSD
& then I have other project deadlines that need to be met.
In the meantime, I'm doing lots of reading too.
I finally finished all 4 Twilight books
& will probably reread Breaking Dawn if I get a chance.
I finally decided I liked Bella's personality much better
after her transformation.
I got real tired of how "weak" she was to everything!!
I mean a person can only get woozy, hold her breath,
pass-out & get dizzy so much.
Hopefully I'll have more time to play this week,
but it's not looking like it so far.
So, you might not see me again til next week,
but I'm hoping not!!
I hope your week is wonderful!!

new Monday sketch @ 2 Sketches 4 U

Wow!!
I can't believe the weekend is already over!!
I hope everyone had a good one?
I know we did.
But before I go into our weekend,
it's MONDAY,
which means a new sketch at 2S4U!!
We were also sponsored by Wicked Princesses!!
This is an awesome Aussie scrapbook kit club.
They sponsored us with Basic Grey Bittersweet papers,
Technique Tuesday stamps & Pink Paislee glitter!!
So, here's my card using a sentiment & flourish
from the Technique Tuesday stamp set;
glitter on the chipboard frame;
Prima flowers topped w/
a Melissa Frances resin flower
& a Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

And also, don't forget about
the Summer Design Team tryouts call
You can get all the information in this post.
And GOOD LUCK to everyone that tries for the team!!

William had his first bike challenge for this year
& his team "Call 911" came in 3rd in their division
& 10th overall. I think there were 50 teams?
They were a bit discouraged when they found out
they were only 5 mins behind the 2nd place team,
especially since they lost 15 mins on the USS Alabama!
I told him if they had a woman on their team,
they wouldn't have gotten lost:)
We also went w/my sister & bil to Ft. Walton
to see Third Day with Brandon Heath & Revive!!
It was an AWESOME AWESOME concert.
A relatively quiet Sunday
with me & Ashlyn making a trip to the library!!
Did you know the library is open on Sundays?
That just blows my mind*seriously*
So, I picked up 5 new books &
I'm already 1/2 way to my goal of 50 for the year
& it's only been 3 1/2 months!!

So, that's all I have for today.
My plate has become over-flowing
in the past week.
I'm getting ready to make me a to-do list
or else I'm gonna get myself in trouble!!
I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

a new So Sketchy Square card

Here's my 3rd card at So Sketchy for April.
I LOVE how this turned out.
I've used all this yummy MME paper,
but have kept every single scrap.
I used a wonderful journaling jotter
from Creative Chaos.

Not feeling very creative this week.
But I did read a great mystery book titled Black Out
& am currently reading another titled Little Book.
My goal is to read 50 books this year
& I'm not doing a bad job thus far.
Joining the public library was a smart move on my part:)
I hope you're having a blessed week.

another 2S4U card for this week

Last week,
after completing my dt card for the current 2S4U,
I decided to make another.
I like how it turned out,
except for the color DMC floss I used.
This color is in the paper,
but it just doesn't seem right.
Luckily, I can take the stitching out
& restitch w/another color,
I just haven't yet.
I also took the Pink Paislee flower apart
& reconstructed it using both the brown & pink
reattached the button & added twine.

2 Sketches 4 U is also accepting applications for their summer dt term.
I encourage everyone to try out:)
Kazan & Laura are an absolute pleasure to work with
& they get some of the most awesome sponsors.
You will definitely enjoy yourself
& the entire 2S4U community makes it even better.
Good luck to each & every one that tries out!!

2S4U & So Sketchy cards to show!!

Happy happy Monday everyone.
It's a rainy dreary day here
& Ashlyn's Spring Break is officially over:(
I have "biscuit-butt" here w/me though,
she goes back tomorrow.
So, we've planned reading books,
exercising & putting on fake nails!!
Up first is my card this week for 2S4U.
I bought this AC paper in San Destin
& LOVE, LOVE, the bright colors.
I finally packed the "remnants" away.
I used a sentiment stamp from DeNami Designs
& heat embossed for a sparkly shine.

Here's my 2nd April card for So Sketchy.
So Sketchy Square Card sketch.
I used a ticket from Creative Chaos.
I hope you'll check out her etsy,
lots of great things.

Welp, that's all for today.
Off to exercise
& then spend time w/my little one!!

2S4U - Laura 23 sketch

I'm playing with some new goodies
I got yesterday afternoon.
I really want to get more of this
Sassafras paper line........it's adorable.
Since I made a giftcard holder
for Laura 23rd sketch,
I came back to the sketch for a card.
Isn't that hippo the cutest?

Look for this card in the September 2009 issue of CARDS magazine.

That's all for today.
Gotta wrap up a few loose ends
before the girlies get home:)

So Sketchy Card & layouts

For the month of April,
So Sketchy was graciously sponsored by
Creative Chaos
The above link will take you to her etsy,
where she has some of the best journaling jotters,
tickets, calendar spots & other cool stuff.
For this card,
I used a journaling jotter that has a cool graphic look.
I also used a printable birthday sentiment from The Cutting Cafe.

We ended up cutting our San Destin trip short.
The weather got a tad too chilly for sun bathing:)
So, I've been scrapping my little heart out.
I mean SCRAPPING ALL DAY LONG!!
I've been focusing on layouts,
since I don't do as many as I should.
Here's a couple I did using some So Sketchy sketches.
This first uses the April 4th layout sketch.
I love scrapping pictures immediately following an event.
These are some pics from San Destin.
The pool water was absolutely freezing,
but you know kids:)

This second layout uses a sketch that was posted
at Scrapbook and Cards Today.
These pics are 3-years old
but it's a favorite pasttime for my parents & girls.
I didn't originally have the border across the top,
but I attempted to Scor-It using my Mini Scor-It,
which is for smaller projects
& I messed it up, so I added the border.
I got these AC papers in San Destin.
Though they are older,
I LOVE them & have used them on several layouts
& cards already. I need to put them away:)

And that's all I have for now.
The girls will be home later today
& I'm so ready to get me some hugs & kisses!!
Thanks for stopping by,
your visit & comments always mean so much to me.

Card Patterns #9 & Use It & So Sketchy

While in San Destin,
I did visit Michael's
& a Scrapbook Warehouse.
I like to visit the Warehouse
for "necessity" items that I might buy in bulk,
since I'm getting such a good deal.
So, I picked up a ton of AC alphabet stickers
found me some newer Prima flowers*score*
& some Bazzill for cheap.
At Michael's,
I picked up these DCWV baby rub-ons.
Not sure why?
But I think it's because I like the colors?
It perfectly matched the ribbon & paper
I got in my monthly Label Tulip kit.

For this layout,
I used a So Sketchy layout sketch,
& combined it with a Use It Challenge #5 by Lori Roop.
The Use It challenge was to use the following:
a) an old scrapbook die - Scenic Route arrow- Loveland collection(old:)
b) old piece of patterned paper - Creative Imaginations (at least 2-years old?)
c) bring back an old technique- for me that's sewing w/my machine instead of by hand
d) something bought on clearance - the SR chipboard letters(got them on clearance)

Did some errands this morning,
then came home to get some sun.
Had a box of scappy goodness land on my porch today,
so I'm off to see what I can create:)
I hope your day is as beautiful & blessed as mine!!

CPS 110

It's been a couple of weeks
since I've been able to do a CPS sketch.
I'm still on Spring Break,
girls are at Six Flags
& I had to come back into town
to get a few things done.
I ended up being here longer than anticipated,
so I tackled a few cards while I was waiting.
Here's my take on CPS 110.
Using some SEI & an embossing template.

The weather is crazy around here.
It's kinda hard to be poolside or visit the beach
in 50 degree weather:)
But, we're making the most of our down time
I'm already anxious for my 2 chickies to be home!!

2 Sketches 4 U - Scor-It Tutorial

This week at 2 Sketches 4 U,
the design team was sponsored by Score-It.
Each of us was generously given a Mini Scor-It
& I can't say enough about this wonderful tool!!
Not only is it easy to use,
but since I'm left-handed,
they have made it easy for us "lefties" to use!!
Here is the project I made using the Score-It.
I made a gift-card holder
& then placed it inside this little basket.
It was an easy project,
& I didn't even use a template!!!

The first thing to remember when making a score that will fold is it's VERY important that you lay your project face down on the mat. In other words, the side you score should be the INSIDE of the project. Then simply start your tool in the notch above where your paper lays and start your score.
You will see I placed the gift card on my paper,
as a guide as to where to place my score lines.

Once I scored the top & bottom of the gift card,
I simply folded my paper over & it folds so easily too.

Next, I wanted to made some inside edges that would keep the gift card "inside" the holder.
So, I scored (using the gift card as my guide), along the left & right edges.

Then I simply folded the left & right edges in towards the gift-card
& then cut the excess from the top & bottom folds.

Here is what it looks like folded together with the gift-card inside.
You'll notice I also used a border punch.

I also used the Score-It to make lines that were decorative
& not necessarily to be folded, like you will see in the next 2 pictures.

And the finished product.
I used some velcro to keep the entire thing closed.

And now for the basket:
I started by cutting a circle & NOT removing the circle cutter from the paper.
By doing this, I could keep the "center" of the circle.

I traced a rectangular piece in the middle.

And then scored over the pencil lines.

Using a ruler, I drew lines, extending from the corners of the rectangle,
to the outer edge of my circle.

And then I scored these lines.

Once I had all my lines scored,
you can see I simply folded them "inward" & glued them together.

And my finished basket,
which I stuffed w/shredded patterned paper
& used eyelets to hold the ribbon.

Still enjoying some time in SanDestin.
The girls are w/my in-laws,
headed to Six Flags over GA.
I will miss them tremendously.
This is the first time they've taken a trip w/out me!!
I see lots of house-cleaning!!

So Sketchy Circle Card sketch

This is my first post for April
with some brand, spankin' new sketches
from Allison over at So Sketchy.
This is a fun circle sketch
that I turned allowing the 3 circles
to be replaced w/the houses & trees.

We're in SanDestin right now
enjoying our Spring Break!!
I hope everyone else is enjoying their week!!

Thanks for visiting!!
