Wipths, Stone Moutain, End of the school year, birthdays & Maroon 5!

What a combination & life just keeps getting better! Camryn....my sweet little 2-year old! She's a person all her own & that's what I love about her the most. Let me set the scene: I'm in the kitchen cooking supper (homemade meatloaf & mashed pots with green beans) & as I'm exiting the kitchen, I see her approach me.

ME: Camryn? What's all over your face?
CAMRYN: Wipths
ME: Oh! I see.........you're so pretty. Can mommy take your picture?
CAMRYN: Sure (as she tilts her head & batts her eyes at me as only a 2-year old can do).

This past weekend was spent w/some wonderful friends. We love this family. Their children are the same exact age as Ashlyn & Camryn, so it makes for fun times. We went to Stone Mountain Park with them & had a great time, minus the ankle twisting incident by Jeannie, who now has a chipped ankle bone (ouch!!). The weather was beautiful & despite the lack of 2-year old naps, the kids were great!!


Ashlyn's First grade year is coming to an end. I love the summer & I especially love having her home with me. It went by all too quickly......seems like just yesterday we were taking her for the first day of school. It's been a great year for her: Straight A's, Advanced Reading; Sunshine Math; Terrific Kids award & tons of memories she recounts everyday. We're going to miss her teachers, but are looking forward to her 2nd grade adventures.

Along with the end of the year comes her birthday (25th). Is my little girl really turning 7 already? You hear it all the time, but I just have to say it again: "It seems like yesterday I was just bringing her home from the hospital." I miss my little, teeny tiny new baby, but I love the beautiful girl she is now. And for those that are wondering, she's having a Spiderman birthday party! Yep......couldn't talk her into a pink spiderman suit. Nope! Had to be red, just like Spidey himself!! Love this girl.

And last, but most definitely not least...................Maroon 5's latest album release!!! Yep, I prepurchased this baby from iTunes & am listening as I type. Definitely different from their first album & not sure I"m liking it as well, but then again, it's hard to hear it over the Backyardigans!! It'll grow on me, I'm sure.

And w/that I leave you. This week brings end of the school year parties, birthday parties & a possible trip to KY to see my new nephew..............I love summer!!!!

Icing on the cake!!

I'm totally giddy with excitement!!!!

Back in April, I posted about Inspiration & where it comes from. Along with that post, I uploaded a layout I did of Ashlyn & her best friend. I loved how the layout turned out, but of course, 2 beautiful girls make for beautiful pictures, which made for a beautiful layout titled Beautiful Soul.

Well...................I got an email today from Memory Makers & they requested this layout for their October 2007 issue. To say I'm excited is putting it rather mildly!! This is my first "put in the mail with all the appropriate forms & get a check back in the mail" type of publication. I won't even say how long I've been trying to get published & honestly didn't think it would ever happen, much less a major publication like Memory Makers. This is not only good news for me, but, hopefully a testament to all those out there trying to get published, that it will happen with time & persistence. I'm hoping this is just the beginning of publications for me, though I honestly do this for my own pleasure. But, if I can get a few things published here & there...............well now, that's just icing on the cake!!

Jelly Bellies & late night scrapping

As I sit here eating yummy Jelly Bellies my mom brought me for Mother's Day, along with some toilet paper(which is an entirely different post, though I'm not eating the toilet paper), I decided I wanted to share my latest design team projects.

These projects are all sponsored by Just Let Me Scrapbook & I'm quite pleased, if I do say so myself. My favorite is the layout titled "this Face brings laughter to my heart." A combination of the colors & the sweet picture bring a smile to my face everytime I look at it.

I also have to give credit to Rebecca, from another site, for the altered CD idea. The CD has some magnetic strips on the back & can be mounted to a refrigerator. Other ideas for this: use heavy cardboard & other shapes. I'd love to see your take on this project.

Happy Mother's Day

To say I'm blessed is an understatement. I have more then I could ever want in life & I am happy. As Mother's Day approaches, I think of my 2 beautiful girls.............the 2 that have made me a mom. They truly are the sweetest & I thank the Lord for blessing me with them.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day themselves. Being a mother truly is the best experience around!!

4 days & counting!!

Day #4 with my migraine & what's a girl to do? These migraines are a "monthly" occurrence & from what I've researched on the internet, there is no specific medication that helps. If anyone out there in cyber world knows of a cure, PLEASE let me know. These are very debilitating for me......I'm talking stay in bed with all the lights off & an ice-pack over my entire face & head for hours on end. Did I mention I have 2 kids? 2 kids that are so sweet & usually know to do their own thing while I lay in agony. I know the words I have chosen to describe said migraine may sound a bit harsh, but believe me, if I could find harsher words, I'd use them!!

So, I'm including 2 layouts I did using the ScrapFabulous May kit. These 2 layouts are also featured in Basic Grey's on-line gallery. Yay me!!

And with that.......I say adios amigas, as I go nurse my migraine, yet again...........Day #4!!

Happy Monday

I hope everyone had a great National Scrapbook week & weekend & got a lot done!! Here's 2 projects I did this past week. The first is from a challenge at Scrapfabulous; the other is from their May monthly kit.

The weekly crop at Scrapfabulous was great. A lot of really great projects were uploaded & tons of prizes were given away. THANK YOU to those that participated because you read my blog. In fact, "Chrismiss," I need your mailing addy so I can get a RAK to you. I drew your name from a random drawing!!

It's Teacher Appreciation week & what are you planning? As usual, I'm last minute planning. I already have ideas for Wednesday & Friday, but nothing for the other days? I need to get off my duff & do something quick. We've really enjoyed Ashlyn's teachers this year & will miss them next year. In fact, we're already debating on who we want Ashlyn to have as a teacher for next year.......decisions!!

Not much else going on here, unless you want to come over & help clean my house:) Have a great one!!

New life...........

as of 10:49 PM, April 30th, I am a proud new aunt. My brother & his wife welcomed a new baby boy into the world.....Nathan Scott, 7 lbs. 15 oz; 19.5" long. I cannot wait to feast my eyes upon him. We're hoping to visit with them Memorial Day weekend, but you know how the whole "bringing a new baby home with a 2-year old" might ensue!! I'm just totally elated & I'm anxiously stalking my email for pics.
